This is Fruitycake. If we don’t have hope, we don’t have anything, do we? And I don’t know about you, but I want the everything. Including the spaghetti and the pizza.
All we have for the next few days is hope. And we have to believe. We won’t stop believing. We are holding on to that feeling of knowing that if we are meant to stay,
Papers. Numbers. More papers and numbers. But in the midst of all that in a language we don’t fully understand yet, is the only thing we have underneath it all. That we can do the important things that Brickle wanted us to do when he got us here.
That we can continue to do the important things both Digby and Brickle did for all those years. To make a difference.
It’s more than just about us and this house. It’s what we can do with what we have. And part of what we have is a family online and some we have even met in person who want to do the good things too with us.
Today, the persons have to go see a lawyer man person. Then tomorrow, we travel. Our very first travel since Brickle left our sides. But we know he will be with us every step of the way and at our appointment on Friday.
Some may think we just want to make a difference here in this Italy place. But that’s not it. No matter where we have traveled over the years, we help animals wherever they are! People wherever they are! We believe you can make a difference in so many ways. And this is ours. With you, we believe it’s possible. Without you, it’s not.
We are beyond nervous and hope to show the persons that make decisions we are serious about our plans and our dedication.
So I don’t usually ask things directly. But this is so important i have to. I’m a dog and I don’t understand all the things persons do. I believe in my job and my job is to be with you encouraging people to adopt each day. But if we lose this chance, it’s a big loss. SO if you can show your support in any of the following ways today, it will help us show we have support and believers…thank you. This project will be so needed and so fun if we can make it happen. I just discovered you in April 2025. Your work at the Rustico, your perseverance with the animals, the house restoration and informing the world are inspiring. But most of all for the animals, it is a show of love for our fellow creatures.. Good luck this Friday with the lawyer and all the paper work.
Sono un’amante dei cani e vivo a Boston, ma possiedo anche case in Liguria (Vallebona, IM, Glori/Molini, IM) e Toscana (Sarteano, SI). Io e mio marito trascorriamo molto tempo in Italia e portiamo sempre con noi il nostro cane da assistenza.
Sappiamo che, proprio come negli Stati Uniti, ci sono molti cani in Italia che hanno bisogno di aiuto per trovare una casa. Crediamo che le persone di “Sotto il Corvo” siano molto sincere nel loro desiderio di creare un nuovo centro di soccorso per cani e che stiano lavorando duramente sulla loro proprietà nella zona di Portofino per realizzare questo obiettivo. Hanno trascorso anni negli Stati Uniti facendo questo tipo di lavoro, quindi conoscono molto bene i cani.
Sarebbe una cosa meravigliosa per i cani e per la gente della Liguria. Sosteniamo con tutto il cuore i loro sforzi.
I have followed your journey for at least the past five years. I support both UTC and 2 Traveling dogs as a subscriber. I am so aware of the help you’ve been to shelters here in the States. I sincerely hope that the Italian Government can see the good you are trying to do in their beautiful country.
I definitely believe in what you all are doing! I have followed you for several years. You all have worked so very hard in what you believe in-rescuing animals and helping them to find a forever home while helping many animal rescues to get the supplies that they need to help/continue to help the rescued animals with food, medical attention, etc. You certainly deserve to stay there in Italy to continue your work. You all own such a beautiful large space that would be a fabulous location to help additional rescued animals! You all have overcome so many obstacles and deserve this chance to stay there in your home that you purchased! And to give you the opportunity to help so many other rescued animals! Prayers for you all to get to stay and continue your life’s work!

I have followed Nate and Rachael for years on social media, and I have never seen more hard-working, trust-worthy people!! They love all creatures and people and have been making a difference for years in the US. They have worked tirelessly to help animals all over the states, and have worked so hard on their home to turn it into a sanctuary for all! Nobody deserves to stay in Italy more, they continue to make a difference every day! Please allow them to remain in Italy to continue their dream, and OURS, to make a beautiful change for all. What @2travelingdogs; Rachael and Nate, has done to help promote animal rescue and adoption in the US has been an inspiration. Traveling to every state and visiting rescues and showing how important animal rescue and adoption work are to communities. They bring so much knowledge to this subject, but more importantly they save lives. Not only the lives of the rescues or adoptable pets but of people. People whose lives were changed by the animals they adopted. This work and their dedication to it is what every community needs. Spreding love, hope and inspiring the hearts of many around the world. Its exciting to imagine what they will do in Portofino. Animals and animal rescue has become a huge passion project around the globe. People like Nate and Rachael are the reason the USA and the world has opened our collective eyes and our hearts to see these precious lives be saved.
What you are doing and will be doing in the future is vital work. You have not faltered and have not chosen the easy path when things have gotten tough. Your commitment to your mission supporting rescue has never wavered, and as a follower, I honor and respect you for choosing this difficult but rewarding path.
