Apologies To The Pig

This is Fruitycake. We all have to say we are sorry sometimes. We make mistakes. We all do. Even me, Torta Di Frutta.

Sometimes I make a mistake getting the wrong toppings on my pizza. That is a mistake.

But mistakes are just a part of life. For us all.

Yesterday, the persons had to walk a lot. Almost eight miles total. And they had to carry paint and some groceries for all those miles.

Why? The old bikes had flat tires. And the buses were full of many many persons enjoying this Italy place.

So by the time they got back to our path, they were hot and tired. Girl Person said her foot was acting kooky and going sideways and she felt like she may pass out. And then, all of a sudden, she heard the loudest grunt ever in the bushes at the steepest part of the path. And she screamed. Real loud. And in any language, her scream could make you call your momma.

Now, after the long day my persons had, wow, you would have thought it was the icing on the cake to be scared by a wild pig!

And when the pig ran away, very fast, Girl Person did laugh. But instead, Boy Person felt it was appropriate to apologize. To the pig. To apologize to the pig for interrupting his pig activities off of our path.

Must be hard to be a wild pig around here when you have a Fruitycake barking at you and persons trudging thru your path with paint and groceries.

Do we ever put ourselves in someone else’s shoes? Or feet? Or paws?

Right now, we feel like we offend people all the time here, because we probably do. Cultures are different, ways of life are different, and we may need to apologize more often now. But we also think back to times when maybe someone offended us and we acted not nice or inpatient.

Apologizing is a must in life. No one can be right all of the time, except maybe Brickle.

So today, be a little more patient. Apologize to someone if you make a mistake. Learn to give tolerance and forgiveness in someone else’s day so that they are more likely to show it to someone else.

An electric bike will save us time, energy, and pain—and allow us to do more of what we came to Italy to do: rescue and rebuild.
And if you can’t give, that’s okay—sharing this post or leaving a word of encouragement makes a difference, too.

Fruity, I learned patience years ago when I decided that my plastic modeling skills had gotten good enough for a model made by a company named: Tamiya. At the time, they were new to me and my hobby store (yes, there used to be hobby stores!). I bought it and from then on, I never brought a model from any other company. What I learned about patience, was if the part didn’t fit, you were doing it wrong. That to me, is how life is, if the person doesn’t get along with me and my friends, then it’s time to part ways.
