This is Fruitycake. I don’t know about you, but I have my favorite shows to watch. My absolute favorite is the Girl Person cooking show. She used to be on that real television thing.
But now I have a front row seat all to myself! Today I got scrambled eggies with brocolli and chickpeas and a side of a kiss. It didn’t cost me any extra! I like eggies almost as much and Brickle and Digby did.
But some days, I feel like we are a show. Because we are. When I was adopted a few years ago, I was asked if I wanted to be on the show.

We want to fill social media with happy ways to an animal’s life. We give our time and resources to this cause. We have worked daily for over a decade to grow our pages to help provide free exposure to shelters and rescues at no cost. We reserve space for animals in need. Not sponsors. But we need your support.
If you’d like to help us continue this cause and mission which includes blogs, videos and more, you can contribute any amount here. We cannot do this without you. Head to https://tinyurl.com/Fruitycakeblog to help!
And I did. Because I thought it would be fun to have all the friends to be with me every single day like Brickle and Digby did. But lately, my job is much more than being on a show.
Because our show is real life. And Girl Person needs a pep talk. She needs to know if we are running or ruining the show. And I tell her that we aren’t ruining anything. We are just living.
Imagine if there was a show about your life for over ten years. Would people be disappointed that you changed in those years or that your circumstances changed in those years? Would people be upset you didn’t look exactly the same or that you didn’t live the same day every day?

Of course not. Because reality is about new circumstances and new characters in your life. New lessons and new growth.
Imagine if you kept seeing my beginning chapter every day? You wouldn’t see me getting better used to water. Or making new friends. You wouldn’t have seen me fly on a plane with Brickle.
You wouldn’t see me in this Italy place.
Some people have told us they wish we would go back to the way things used to be. I understand somewhat. Because that was a good story. But if you want to stay with us and keep reading and watching, it’s up to you, really. You don’t have to tune in to our show. But we hope you do. Because we love you. And if we can all change and grow together, why does it have to be a bad thing?

Me and Girl Person have a surprise for you later on today. We haven’t told anyone about it. But it will be part of our show and a way to help animals. And we sure hope you’ll watch later.
Don’t let anyone ruin your growth or your show. You run your show. You owe it to no one but you to be the best you can be.
You don’t have to stay the same for anyone else’s comfort level. Get a new couch like I did!
I hope that you’ll tell Girl Person you’re enjoying the show, because it would make my job easier today. And we can’t wait for your surprise later!

This is Fruitycake. B is for blue. It’s the color of this rose I found and the blue is my Girl Person’s mood. But I’m helping her thru this day and this week! B is also for bat. And you would think the bat houses would be done by now. But Boy Person cut the wood and made the boards by hand. Then the rain warped them. We all know he has a warped sense of humor! So he had to redo the boards and he got the insides done for the bats to be able to hold on. Its our very first project here for wildlife! I think it’s going to be part of a bigger picture ahead for wildlife!!! And I’m hoping this pulls the persons thru their gloomy moods. If you would like to purchase a shingle with your name for the bat houses, or just contribute to the blog, oh, it would be awesome to be able to include you here!! We can’t do this without you. Because the picture to why we are here is starting to be very clear…so here’s the links and if there is any extra, I’ll be happy to buy myself a treat for all my work!

Dear Fruity and GP,
Y’all do you!! I love my subscription to your blog and follow you waiting to see what has happened to you three every opportunity I have. Between Fruity’s fall and GP’s concussion, I just hope you both heal very quickly. You are not ruining anything. I love your adventures. I’ve watched and read since about a year before Digby passed. We have to grow and move on. I cried when he left and I cried when Brickle crossed over as well. They are like family, family that we love unconditionally. Please continue as long as possible including us in this messy situation called life. ❤️
Fruity, I want to tell you and Girl Person what I did many years ago. I was born and raised in Chicago. We moved to a suburb when I was in college, I got a job after college and never really thought of leaving. But when I realized I was gay, I knew I had to move and luckily A I had a friend who offered a way out and so I moved to southern California. I got I job, I met my soulmate and was happy, until she got sick and she moved to Olympia, Washington. I followed her, but couldn’t find a job, so I could retire. I miss the great weather in Southern California, so maybe I will be brave and move again. For now I will be happy with being as good as I can be.
