This is Fruitycake. If anyone knows about noise, well, it’s me. I love my noise sometimes. Noise means fun. And barking means I’m being me.
But all noise is not always good. Sometimes, noise can signal alarm.
Or noise can mean arguing. Or being unkind. Noise can be unhealthy. Yet persons, when they are angry sometimes only add to the noise.
And wonder why they are stressed or anxious. I know I’m just a dog. But I know what I’m talking about.
Yesterday, Girl Person had a very long day of groceries and bus rides. She had to get supplies in anticipation of the rain today.
And wow. It sure is raining today. She’s glad now that she went. But it still was a hard day.
And while she was in her day, she decided to look at the news. Look at different things that made her feel negative emotions. And she realized that those negative emotions were just adding to the noise of anxiety for her. Within her.
And she had to turn it off. She had to take away the power of the noise. Or she was going to make her day even harder. And there was no reason for that.
When I feel stress, and yes, us dogs do, what do we do? Try to run. Try to get away from the situation. No. We don’t ignore what’s happening. But we process it. We figure out what to do. And get away from danger to protect ourselves. We run.
And persons need to do the same sometimes.
Don’t let the noise in the world distract you from the peace.
We all have that within us.
If everyone yelled and put anger in the world at once, it would be chaos. Even dangerous.
Be an asset to someone else today with your peace of mind. And be mindful of protecting it.
