The Special Is Special To Me

This is Peanut Butter Brickle. Many things happened yesterday that were special.

I had a good day with my legs. They worked pretty well and took me to where I wanted to go. Which was to see things and experience things. My legs were special.

I had a good nap…well, a few good naps in the sunshiney. Yes!! Sunshiney! I haven’t seen it for days. And that was special.

I was able to spend time with Fruitycake. And his way of making everyone laugh is special.

I also got to go to a cafe on a river with happy people and their happy dogs and their food that made them happy. That was special.

The truth is, and I always tell the truth, I haven’t been wanting to eat very much lately. I want to do things. But it takes energy to do those things. And when I don’t eat enough, I can’t do what I want to. The only thing I like to eat lately is something g called rashers here. They don’t give you a rash. Don’t worry.

Girl Person has been trying to give me every food under the sun. Well. Under the rain, in this England place. And all I have wanted is dog food. Dog food. That stuff in a bag. That crunchy stuff. I want that. Yet no one could think of that. Until yesterday. Girl Person all of a sudden thought of that.

And the nice lady here where we are staying had some for me to try. And yes. I ate it all.

Dog food may not be special to all dogs. Girl Person tried to give some to Fruitycake but he refused. Oh, Fruitycake. I’m laughing again.

But dog food is special to me. It may not have been special when I was young. But each of us are allowed to change our special things and things we hold dear to us. It’s ok to change our likes and dislikes. Especially as we get older, special is more special.

Girl Person says whatever I want is special to her too. It’s nice when we have someone that realizes we may need something that they don’t like, but they love us. And that’s more important.

The special is special to me. It may not be on someone else’s menu. But the senior dog menu is flexible. Important. And as special as me.
