This is Peanut Butter Brickle. Have you ever wanted something that someone else had? I’ve heard Girl Person tell this crazy story about when she was little so many times. She had a frog. A frog that was a stuffed animal. And the frog was a puppet.
She didn’t much care about this frog. She thought it was just ordinary. But her friend had an eraser. A Burger King eraser. And she wanted that more. Yes. She was five. But somehow, she thought she needed an eraser.
So. She traded. And when she got home with her new eraser, she immediately regretted her decision. Because she didn’t have anything to erase. A frog would definitely have been more useful to cuddle with in bed.
Trading. Sometimes it’s good. Sometimes it’s bad. I haven’t been feeling the best the last few days. So I’ve been doing a lot of resting. I’ve been watching the goings on. And I’ve been making friends. Friends with a crow named Curry. I named him myself. He’s a big spicy.

I had a dog chew outside I was working on. It’s about all I like to eat lately. And when I turned around, Curry the Crow took it. I would have been madder if not for more in the fridge. But I thought, well, what am I gonna do? Fly and get it?

So I let it go. I had bigger things to worry about. So the next morning when I woke up, I was surprised to see my dog chew back. And I was surprised. Either Curry felt bad about what he did. Or he didn’t want it. Either way, he didn’t have to bring it back. So I appreciated it. And that’s when I decided to trade. I left some cheese and some eggs for him. And we played the game all day. And I like that spicy bird. I like Curry. He reminded me that we all trade in life. Every day.

We choose one thing for another. Sometimes our choices are good ones. Sometimes we regret them like Girl Person regretted losing her frog for an eraser. But every choice we make comes at the expense of something else. So think before you trade peace for commotion.
Think before you trade good health for complacency. Think before you trade ease with living.
It hasn’t been the easiest decision to make to come to this England place.

Then we have to go to that Italy place. But I could have had my not so good days anywhere. And I choose them here. It’s a new adventure. And I got to meet Curry The Crow.
I may have traded a few extra naps for living. But I don’t regret trying. Try today for me. I’ll trade you.
But be careful before you trade. You may think you want something someone else has. But remember how valuable what you have is too.
