Changing Your Mind

This is Peanut Butter Brickle. I change my mind a lot. One minute I’ll want steak. The next minute, I’ll want peanut butter on my steak. Don’t knock it till you try it.

But persons have a bit of a hard time changing their minds. They may have thought one way for quite a long time. Maybe since they were little persons. They’ve stood by those principles.

If you’re a person, maybe you thought you wanted to have a certain job when you grew up. Then, you did all of that work. And realized you didn’t want to change. Because it was your whole identity. It’s true we all need a job. But a job is not us.

I’ve realized that a lot lately. I used to think that my job was protecting our chickens when we had a house. And I took it very seriously.

Then later on, I felt my job was to protect the campsite. After all, I had to protect something. It was also fun to scare others.

When we no longer had the RV, I felt kind of lost. Like what was my job? I had to protect something, right? Actually, I didn’t. I had to change my mind.

I was more than that now. I had to change my principles. And that meant I had learned. That mean I had evolved. That meant I had grown as an individual. And you know what? I’m kinda excited figuring out what the next version of myself is.

Admitting we have changed is hard. Because we may think others won’t like that. But will you like that? Who else lives in your mind but you? No. One. Unless you’re Fruitycake. I’m quite sure there is someone else in there.

Changing your mind can be a good thing. Don’t get stuck. Grow. Evolve. Live your best life! What’s going to be new for me? Just wait and see…big news tomorrow! But first. Vet visit. Today.
