This is Peanut Butter Brickle. Can you imagine if you could enjoy your favorite things every single day? Right now, I would pick peanut butter ice cream, naps with Fruitycake, and my spot at the campsite we are at now.
But if you would have asked me a month ago what my favorite things were, they would have been peanut butter cookies, teaching Fruitycake how to drink water from the creek and our campsite at the top of a Tennessee place mountain.
What I am saying is that my favorite things change, and I bet that yours do too. We may always wish that things won’t change and that things will stay the same. But we know that is not possible. As much as we want it to be. I have learned that we will always be moving. We will never be in the same place.
So my secret is to enjoy things while I can enjoy them. It’s like scraping that last bit of peanut butter out of every jar. Do you?
There is nothing wrong with knowing that our favorite things may not always be ours. There is also nothing wrong with changing our minds on what we like. Right now, I am loving our campsite in this West Virginia place.
I like how big our campsite is and that I have my own space. I like the sound of the wind thru the trees. I like the sound of the river. I will miss this campsite, but I don’t know what is next. Maybe I will like it even better. Do you give yourself that same chance? There are so many flavors in life.
Just as the earth turns, so do our thoughts.
So do our likes and dislikes. If we enjoy things while we can, and don’t imagine them away, the pressure won’t be to keep them all to ourselves, but to share with others so that they may experience them too.
Nothing on this earth is truly ours anyways. So enjoy it while you can.
