Try The Leaf Blower

This is Peanut Butter Brickle. Are you a loner like me? Do you prefer the amazing gift of your own company to that of the outside world? I hear ya.

Sometimes it’s too much. The world. All of it.

When Girl Person was tidying up around the outside of the Barking Biscuit Buggy yesterday, I watched. Instead of raking up leaves like she’s always done, she was blowing them. A lot of them. All over the place.

I hear her complain all the time about persons being full of hot air. But this was taking it to another level.

If you want to see something funny, watch a person with a leaf blower. All they seem to do is move them around and send them somewhere else.

Girl Person said while using a leaf blower may seem funny to me, she uses it because there are too many leaves to rake. She says there’s no way she could ever get them all up. And yet, she isn’t getting them all up anyways. She’s just moving them around.

Persons use a lot of energy to try and be productive. But do they ever stop and see what they are really accomplishing? Seems to me they usually just go thru the motions.

Going thru the motions may be what you’ve always done. It may take control to stop and see how productive you are really being.

Whether it’s in your relationships with other persons, walking your dog, working….you get it.

Instead of being full of hot air, make your time count.

Don’t chase leaves all over the place. Leaves will blow back. But you shouldn’t blow persons away with a leaf blower. And you may be doing that without even realizing it.

Being productive is good. But so is love. Life. Persons. Animals.

Don’t be so busy doing nothing you think is something and forget that.

Campfire cooking is just one of the great things about camping in cold weather! What’s YOUR family’s favorite camping meal? #ad

Did you know that you can warm up by the fire while making you and your dog a fun meal to eat together? One of our favorite campfire meals is the Campfire Puptato Board! Get that fire going outside of your RV from Camping World and enjoy the great outdoors with great food any time of the year!

What you will need for the campfire cooking portion for two persons and two dogs, or one hungry person and one hungry dog:

2 Russet Potatoes
2 Sweet Potatoes
aluminum foil

Poke each potato several times on all sides with a fork. Rub each potato with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, then double wrap in aluminum foil. Bury the potatoes in the hot coals of your campfire. Allow to cook for 30 to 60 minutes until soft.

Here’s the fun part! You and your dog can choose what topping selections to put on your Campfire Puptato Board! We like to choose toppings that are dog friendly so that we can all eat them, but we leave out the salt to add to the person portion before eating.

Here are the favorites of the 2 Traveling Dogs family:

Unsalted chili made with black beans, tomatoes and cilantro
Shredded cheese (mozzarella or goat cheese is a good choice for dogs)
Chopped tomatoes (make sure to leave out leaves and stems)
Chopped green bell peppers
Plain greek yogurt

Brickle and Digby’s favorite toppings for the sweet potatoes:

Maple syrup
Shredded coconut
Shredded mozzarella
Chopped Turkey Bacon
Chopped peanuts or almonds
Plain greek yogurt

The best part about the Campfire Puptato Board is that your family can make it your own! Choose your own toppings, and make sure the toppings for your dog are dog-friendly. Dress warm, build a toasty campfire, and eat together. Did you know that families eat better when they share a meal with each other? They tend to eat more fruits and vegetables and other healthy foods. Plus, it’s just fun!
