A Star Is Born

This is Digby Pancake. Someone once said a star is born every day. That was Peanut Butter Brickle who said that. About himself.

But little did he know that when we had to film this past weekend, everyone would know that I was indeed born to be a star.

First of all, I don’t know what a star is, except for the ones in the sky.

And yes, I may be as happy and high as a star in the sky. But now, everyone knows the real me. On TV.

The persons were all nervous to film something about camping. They made sure their hair looked ok, they took a shower, they cleared their throats a lot. I wasn’t sure what the big deal was to go sit down with other people and talk. Must be those camera things.

But the good thing about being me is that I always see the bright side.

And the way the persons were acting about all of this, I thought it must be a big deal. But Peanut Butter Brickle just turned around. He said it was to show his good side, which is all of his sides.

The persons talked and talked. And they talked so much that they accidentally got my leash caught on my foot. Now, it didn’t hurt, but I took this as an opportunity to shine and steal the show. Someone needed to do it. So I yelped. And everyone said, “Oh no, Digby! Are you ok? Awwww….baby…”. It was pretty dramatic. I should have won an award for my acting skills.

They kept talking, but as long as Brickle was showing one of his good sides and not facing us, I decided to go from person to person to person. That way, I got to be on every camera angle. Some may be worried about their angles. When you got it, flaunt it, I say.

I got all kinds of love from everyone on the show. And by the time they were finally done talking, and Peanut Butter Brickle stood up to close the show and yell “cut”, the obvious was obvious. A star had been born. I realized one of my callings. Superstar!

It’s not every day that I feel special. But I took this day and allowed myself to feel special. Do you ever feel that way? You may be self concious. or nervous around others. You may feel like what you used to offer to the world is diminishing with time. Or maybe you just don’t feel worthy of attention. It’s simply not true. Your value is timeless.

So if you feel like that, take a day to shine. Wear your favorite clothes (not pants, which I hate), eat your favorite foods, do your favorite things. Treat yourself like the star you are…because you are. You shine bright to me. And no one knows this better than me except YOU. If I can feel like a star, you can too. You deserve it.
