This is Fruitycake. Have you ever had a thought you couldn’t let go of? Brickle used to tell me that he thought too much.

He contemplated the world’s situations and the way he thought they should be solved. They didn’t call him Sheriff Brickle for nothing. Because his solution was to arrest everyone.

I’m not the arresting type. I am more of a let’s talk about it kinda type.

I can talk all day long. Like Boy Person. We are definitely alike in that way.
But thoughts? In this case, I’ll do some arresting in honor of Sheriff Brickle. There are a lot of memories this time of year, because last year at this time, we had the best trip of our lives on that airplane and in that England place.

Brickle was giving it his all to get us to this Italy place. And the thoughts that are coming my way and the persons’ way are overwhelming. Boy Person and Girl Person had a talk about thoughts though.
They both agreed that they would not dwell on all the negative parts of these last days of Brickle last year. They would not relive the past. They were keeping it there. Where it should be. What they will do at this time is call to mind the individual he was and what he accomplished and who he helped. Who he is helping right now. Us.
They would not call to mind and thus relive the difficult last parts. He was worth more to them than that. He was not that. He was the rest of his long and wonderful life.

Thoughts. Are they in our control? I think so. Have you ever wondered how your dog thinks if you’re not speaking the same language? What language do we think in? What do we think of? It’s worth pondering that we dogs don’t analyze the past. We get thru the day and live it to the full. Like we all should.

If your thoughts are getting to you, acknowledge them. Sit with them for a moment. And then let it go. Let them all go. And see how much life is right in front of you. You’re stronger than your thoughts. You can be as strong as Brickle.
