One Piece Of Zucchini

This is Fruitycake. Sometimes, my name may bring to mind cakes and tortes and Italian pastries. I like that. I bet you do too.

But I’m not just about cake. I’m also about zucchini. Just one piece.

I get a lot of good vegetables here and good everything in this Italy place.

I love the zucchini here. They have all kinds. I know you may not think of zucchini as being special. But let me assure you, you’ve never tasted this zucchini.

But as much as I love it with my evening meal, sautéed in olive oil, i always take out one piece. I take one piece out of my bowl and give it away to the ants.

Why? They really love it! And they all come out of nowhere to partake in the goodness.

Girl Person thought this was just coincidence until I did it every night for a week. Until I sat and watched them enjoy it.

One piece of zucchini doesn’t make my life any less wonderful when I give it away. In fact, it brings the ants enjoyment, it brings me enjoyment, and maybe it brings you enjoyment that I do this. Do you see how this works? You can be the sunshiney!

One act of kindness or harshness can make a difference not in just one individual’s day, but many. Because whatever we say or do can have a ripple effect.

What if one thing you did for someone today helped them to be kinder to someone else? That’s awesome!

But one of one thing mean you said to someone made them more likely to be mean to the next person? Or cause an accident? Or worse? You may not know, bit that’s the point. Don’t take that chance! It’s just a smile or a piece of zucchini.

I am pure love with a lot of bark and a sense of humor. I enjoy the little things and the big pizzas. I enjoy being Girl Person’s reason to get up in the morning and she is mine.

We are all meant to make this world better. We are all meant to be love. Now, would you like a piece of zucchini?

Part of our vision and plans here are to lead organized hikes of foster dogs and shelter dogs to our property! Why?
A recent study by Virginia Tech found that shelter dogs who had a brief outing or fostering stay were more likely to be adopted. In this study, the researchers assessed the effects of outings of just a few hours and fostering stays of one to two nights on dogs’ length of stay in the shelter and their adoption outcomes.
The researchers found that brief outings and temporary fostering stays increased dogs’ likelihood of adoption by five and more than 14 times, respectively!

Our dreams of making this property in Italy a refuge for animals and wildlife and a way to make a difference around the world by educating and encouraging others to do the same is a real focus now. If you’d like to continue to help us, we absolutely thank you. And we love you!

Fruity, I hate to tell you, but I really don’t like zucchini. I have tried it, but it’s one of the vegetables that I don’t like. Sorry, but everybody’s taste is different, but I get the meaning if the story. I always try to remember to smile at people I meet. I used to be in my own head, but now when I’m out, I smile at people I meet or pass. It’s so easy!
