Darn Rice Cake

This is Fruitycake. Today is the first blog for February. And it is a Saturday. And I’m happy to be here. Despite that rice cake that tried to stop the blog today.

You see, that pesky Depression Monster is trying to work on the weekend.

Help us here

But the thing is, it has an advantage over us today. Because the rain has been nonstop.

Everything is a mess. The mud is making us slip.

And tomorrow, the roads are closed here. So that means whether Girl Person likes it or not, she has to go get groceries today.

Slipping and sliding and whatever else. That darn rice cake.

Rice cake? You heard me. We might as well blame everything on a rice cake. It makes just as much sense as blaming our moods on anyone or anything but ourselves. But I do like blaming the rice cake. It doesn’t bark back. But our inner thoughts do.

A rice cake can’t be trusted. Just like the thoughts in our heads sometimes that tell us we will have a bad day before it even starts. Just like the thoughts we may have told ourselves for years. Girl Person says her thoughts tell her to feel regret. Resentment. Guilt. Lack. She’s used to those cracking her down just like that darn rice cake.

Have you been letting your thoughts control you? The ones that dramatically have told you the same sound over and over? It’s time to change the rice cakes for popcorn. We all know popcorn and positivity and belief in yourself is louder.

Today, we may only have enough to buy one pack of rice cakes. But we are thankful for that. And we are also thankful that our resolve is to be able/better. To do better.

To do better for us and for you and for the rescues and animals that need us this month. Darn rice cake. You didn’t get us today.

If you’d like to help us with content and the blog and videos this week and food for our table, you can do so here! Fruity would appreciate some veggies instead of rice cakes! 🙂 Thanks for your ever loving support!
