Some Call Me The Space Cowboy

This is Deputy Digby Pancake. Have you ever looked up and it was sunshiney but then you felt raindrops? Have you ever felt like the sky was falling in on you? Have you ever felt like your roof was collapsing? Well. Yep.

Life happens in an old rv like that. One day it rains so hard and long that it’s beyond imagination. The next day, you open up your cabinet to get some snacks and find out there the ceiling came down on your snacks.

Many would find this predicament alarming. Many…like the persons. Many would say that you should just raise the roof. And dance away your problems.

Many would be upset. But leave it to me. I can find the humor in just about anything. And I am taking this opportunity to become something I have always wanted to be. A star watcher. A star gazer. I’m taking that hole in the roof and I’m gonna be the next Space Cowboy.

You see, I now have the prime opportunity to gain knowledge in astronomy right from the comfort of my couch. Which is in the living room. Which is also the bedroom. Which is also the kitchen. And that, my friends, is convenient.

It’s not every day that a hole in your roof presents with it not just a lot of headaches and work and tears, but it reminds you that life was sure easier the day before, and you didn’t even know it.

That’s what is crazy about life sometimes. You think you have it rough one day. But it might just be a normal kind of day. And then the not so normal things happen and you wish for the day before. But if you can somehow learn from what happens, like me becoming an astronomy expert, well then, maybe that can carry on to the next not so normal days.

If there was ever a time to learn about the Big Dipper, for me, that is now.

Maybe I can use it to pour out some of this water that’s about to come in…
