The Rescue Rock

This is Fruitycake. The hardest things in life are different for everyone.

Here, every day we pick the hardest and most often go for that. That what it seems like lately for sure.

But in the midst of all that hard stuff are many wonderful things. Like my waterfall, and now it’s your waterfall too.

Just like it’s Brickle’s waterfall and Digby’s waterfall.

Because it truly belongs to everyone and no one at the same time. That’s what I was thinking about when I sat on a hard rock yesterday.

You see, there are many mysteries to uncover here. Literally. Things have been covered in dirt and mud and rocks and bricks and sticks for many, many years.

It’s a dirty job, but if we want our piece of the earth to be able to have fruits and vegetables and flowers, and be safe to walk around, we have to work on the land. It’s hard work.

We want to fill social media with happy ways to an animal’s life. We give our time and resources to this cause. We have worked daily for over a decade to grow our pages to help provide free exposure to shelters and rescues at no cost. We reserve space for animals in need. Not sponsors. But we need your support.

If you’d like to help us continue this cause and mission which includes blogs, videos and more, you can contribute any amount here. We cannot do this without you.  Head to https://tinyurl.com/Fruitycakeblog to help!

And there’s been a giant rock that overlooks the waterfall begging for Girl Person to uncover it. Covered in chicken wire and years of storms. It took her a few days to get to it. But as soon as she cleaned it off, I took a seat. And i just knew it was meant to be the Rescue Rock.

The Rescue Rock. A place where you can sit and look at the waterfall and remember your furkids. A place where the waterfall tells that rescues have strength, beauty and that when they fall, the experience can turn into inspiration.

The Rescue Rock. Where you can close your eyes and hear the sound and know that it flows all year round, even when it doesn’t rain for a long time. Because when it did rain, it rained hard and long. But it turned into a miracle. Just like what rescues go thru.

Ones may see what we haven’t got accomplished here. And wonder why we keep working on the land inbetween the house when it needs so much.

We are doing the best we can. It’s so hard that some days we don’t know what to do or how we will do it. And then something like the Rescue Rock at the waterfall reminds us we can. We all need motivation. Look for it.

Just like every drop of water in a waterfall adds to the beauty, so do we all.

There is power in numbers for the good or bad. The hardest choices aren’t always the easiest.

So sometimes you have to have a seat and contemplate. I have a rock for that.

You guys are working very hard to clean up your place and it’s starting to show with some of the ground clearance. I think some of us would come and help you, but because we don’t live there all we can do is encourage you. I think that it will take time and you already know that. You’re young enough to do this. The summer is coming on and that gives you most of the time you need for now. Keep going. I am living vicariously through you. Thanks!

Fruity I wish you and your persons lived in one of those places in the little square by the sea that was in the video today. It is so quaint and peaceful even with people around. You wouldn’t have to work so hard and you could just relax and enjoy life. How long does it take to get down the mountain to there? It looks like you go there almost every day. I love you all and it just breaks my heart that you are having to work so hard. It looks like it will take years to clean everything up on your piece of land. I also wish you had one if those tiny trucks I see in the town to get back and forth so you don’t have to walk and carry everything up that path. Please be safe and well❤️🐾🙏
