This is Fruitycake. There’s never a dull moment around here. Except when our knives get dull from cutting too much pizza. Yes, that’s how you eat it here.
Yesterday, the sun was shining, Girl Person was able to get a few groceries Boy Person was working for the bats still, and it seemed like nothing could go wrong.

We want to fill social media with happy ways to an animal’s life. We give our time and resources to this cause. We have worked daily for over a decade to grow our pages to help provide free exposure to shelters and rescues at no cost. We reserve space for animals in need. Not sponsors. But we need your support.
If you’d like to help us continue this cause and mission which includes blogs, videos and more, you can contribute any amount here. We cannot do this without you. Head to https://tinyurl.com/Fruitycakeblog to help!
But just when you think that, something is bound to happen. And as we were getting ready for the evening to start by the fire, Boy Person realized he forgot to charge the generator so we would have lights. And he realized he had to get some water from the waterfall to do dishes. So Girl Person got ready for her shower. And I was having a snack. All of a sudden, an alarm started going off.
Alarms are very alarming. I guess they are supposed to be that way.

And this one was extra alarming. It’s the first time it has went off. Girl Person is still a little confused from her concussion.
And so she was running around trying to find a fire upstairs and downstairs. She couldn’t find one, but noticed the smell.
And so she opened a door to find Boy Person running in. Apparently, the door by the generator had slammed shut with wind. And the fumes were coming inside fast. It was enough to cause us all to have a headache and go into a panic. But everything was ok. Thanks, alarm. And thanks everyone for making my persons get them.
Life can change or end in the blink of a door slamming shut.

And as we sat down to eat dinner, I thought of that as I begged for every last piece of that baguette. I started running back and forth and barking and the persons thought I had gone mad. Mad for bread. I’ll blame it on the fumes.
And I guess we were all a little shook up in bed when my stomach got shook up and I threw up.
The day didn’t turn out like we thought. But we are able to see today.

And we are gonna make it a good one. Bad vibes? Don’t let the door hit you on your way out.

Wow! I think you have had quite a day! Using a gas powered generator can be a problem like what you had with the door trapping the fumes from the generator. I really wish you could get electricity up to your place. We have strong storms up here and if I had the money I would get a full house generator. But I would also need a propane tank to supply the generator with fuel. I guess you guys have that problem, too. Glad you had that carbon monoxide alarm; we wouldn’t want you guys dying. Open your windows and let in that fresh air. Girl Person, it sounds like you need more rest from your concussion. Take care you guys.
