This is Fruitycake. I don’t have a chair. I have a little couch. But if I did have a chair, I would pull one up for Girl Person today. I would pull one up for you too.
You know that Girl Person struggles with the Depression Monster. It even followed her to this Italy place. I guess it must have a passport.
But, she has made progress in separating the monster from herself. What do I mean? She may struggle with depression or anxiety or many other problems that are hard right now.

But she is not those things. So I suggested she put those monsters in a chair and that she sit in the room with them, while she does what she needs to do. She can tell them to have a seat over there and do what she needs to do without them

Maybe you have a physical problem like an illness or a disease monster. You may have that monster, but you are not that monster.
The problem does not define you, unless you let it. No, some days won’t be easy. And sometimes you can’t get rid of the monster entirely. But you are not that. Tell it today to pull up a chair and let you live.
If I would have let the Depression Monster get Girl Person today, she couldn’t have typed this blog.

So pull up a chair today and tell someone to park it.

Fruity, I never thought that way about depression. But I definitely like your approach to tell it to pull up a chair and just sit there and shut up! I wish I knew about this while my partner was still alive. I bet it would have worked and we could have had a better life. Thanks, Fruity!
