This is Sheriff Peanut Butter Brickle. They say you can’t go home again. I have heard that. I have said that. There is not too many things that I haven’t said in these blogs the last eight years. But one thing is for sure…wherever home is, you can go there. But there may be someone else that calls it home too. And they may have never left. And well, they may think that they own the place.
Here we are, parked back at site 166 in Jacksonville, Florida. And there he is. He never left site 166. He wondered why we were gone for six months. And he is making up for lost time. Scarlet Pimpernel? When we pulled in and you made your presence known, there was never a time I was glad to see an old friend so much.
But day after day, and morning after morning, well, you made it your goal to tell us that this was your house. Site 166.
You punch a time clock at 7 a.m. Rain, sunshiney or wind doesn’t dictate your persistence. You love yourself. You love your reflection. But obviously, you think that there isn’t room in this site for everyone. At least you go to sleep at night…
Let me preface the following by saying that you are a good-looking bird. I am a very good looking dog.
And you would think that site 166 would not have room for all this handsome. In fact, it barely has room for the Big Blue Treat Wagon RV. But perhaps you should look at this situation a little bit different. Your love is apparent. But Scarlet Pimpernel? It is time to turn your love around.
We have agonized over the situation. Are you enjoying yourself by attacking the RV? Do you have fun chasing away other birds from your lady friend? Are you happy we are here so that it give you something to do? Does our presence make you feel even better about yourself, your beauty and your mysterious ways?
After almost two weeks now of trying to figure out this mystery, we have come to a conclusion. This is the way it is. You are you. This is the way you want it. And we are happy to be a part of what you consider family. Sure, family can irritate you sometimes, but you are always glad they are there. And the truth is, now, you are family. Nothing you do will change my love for you, just like nothing you can do will change the love you have for yourself.
Many would not believe that a red bird like the Scarlet Pimpernel would remember us. Many would not believe that month after month, he would wait for us in site 166. Many would not believe that Digby and I accept his presence and don’t even bark at him because we know he belongs here. But it is true.
Sometimes, it’s the moment that persons recognize that all animals are individuals that gives them the most pause in life.
If that is true, and each animal matters, it gives you more responsibility to take account of your actions. We are sorry to break the news to you if you have been trying to ignore the obvious. The Scarlet Pimpernel is here to tell you that he has personality. He has a love for life. And he has a love for attacking the RV. He refuses to turn that love around.

When we almost lost our Digby this month to pancreatitis, we had to make changes. The organic CBD hemp oil from Pet Releaf helps him with mobility and aches and pains. But their new CBD product, Liposome is what we switched him to! It is made with fish oil and you can put it directly on food! We love ALL of Pet Releaf products! Find out which one is right for your pet with their new usage guide online. And don’t forget to use coupon code 2TD to save 10% off of your order (no limit on usage) at www.petreleaf.com

His lady friend is his wife. Cardinals mate for life, so you get the whole family. He has adopted you, and you him. And he’s gorgeous. You wouldn’t think so much handsome could reside in such a small space, but you can share because it’s not all the same kind of handsome. There’s dog handsome and there’s bird handsome. SP gets,to be flying, airborne handsome while you, dear Sheriff, are patrol handsome. And your deputy? Well, we know Digby don’t care.
If you want him to leave your mirrors alone – put bags over them so he can not see his reflection – it’ll take a few days but he’ll stop
