This is Fruitycake. You know those mornings that you take it slow and wake up gingerly?
Yeah. Today was not that morning. When the storm we were expecting blew in this morning, it literally shook the house and us in it.
If we had been on a boat, we would have sunk.
If we would have been outside, we would have been blown to the sea.

Because the fury of this wind made my furry tail blow back and forth even inside. The wind blew open the windows and at the same time, ripped the giant tarp on our roof off. The ropes and cords ripped and the persons just said, oh well.
Oh, well. We say that a lot here. Because when so many things happen all of the time, you gotta just say that.
The rain has started again and the waterfall is coming down and it’s a bit dramatic. I’ll say oh well with a sigh. And watch the drama from the couch.
For anyone that asks the obvious, no, we didn’t know it rained this much. We didn’t know a lot of things.
Now, we knew this would be the job and experience of a lifetime. And may take a lifetime to complete.
But we still know we have a purpose for being here. And although we don’t know all the answers just yet, it’s ok to ask questions so we figure it out along the way.
I think that when a choice in life seems ridiculous to most, but you feel it’s for you, that’s when you know it’s your purpose.
Some of us know our purpose and wait till late in life like my persons to do it. But it can still be done. And sometimes you have to blow off the hot air from others telling you it’s wrong. It’s not wrong. It’s just not for them. And that’s ok.
Can you imagine if everyone looked into their hearts today and recognized their purpose on how to make the world better? The world would BE better.
So blow off what others may tell you is impossible. Because if your motivation is truly strong enough in your heart to be seen, I know you can do it.
I also know Boy Person has to get on the roof today and fix the tarp so we don’t have rain in here. And Girl Person cut her same finger again. But that has nothing to do with this. I just needed the good vibes for them.

You guys are amazing. Maybe if I was 40 years younger, I would have the courage to do what you guys are doing. Some people said I had a lot of courage back when without a job traveled to the Los Angeles area to live the life I wanted; to be a lesbian without being criticized. I went to live the life I really wanted and I have never looked back. Nothing like rescuing dogs but rescuing myself.
