This is Fruitycake. You know, sometimes I think about how different me and Brickle were. 

He was the strong and silent type…until he jumped up and scared you out of your pants. 

I am the baby and talking type.

Girl Person calls me Bubby Bubb Bubb baby. I think that’s ridiculous in any language. Although I’m starting to understand more of the Italian language.

And I love it when someone says “ciao” to me. So I say it back every time! They say hello, I say hello.

And that’s my way. Girl Person noticed that I only do this when they say that word.

And she really thinks it’s the cutest thing ever. So obviously, I am going to keep doing it! 

I like talking and barking. I don’t know how to be any other way, just like Brickle didn’t know how to be any other way. 

No, he definitely didn’t say ciao. But he had his own way of showing love. Like telling Girl Person thank you for a meal he liked by rubbing his face on her. He liked to flop over when he liked a hike.

And although these moments didn’t happen often, you knew when they did that you were really loved. Don’t we all need to know that?

Love isn’t just something to show for ones that we’ve known a long time. We can show love just with a word or a smile or a ciao, like me.
