A total eclipse of the heart

Girl Person says that today, the moon will cover the sun and make it dark.  So she told us that when that happens, Sheriff Brickle and I will be going inside.

And if you’ll only hold me tight
We’ll be holding on forever
And we’ll only be making it right
‘Cause we’ll never be wrong together

I thought about what the persons are so excited about seeing.  So they have to buy special glasses to look at the sun or something, but if it supposed to get dark, what do you need glasses for?

I have no reason, nor do I want to look at a dark sun.  Now.  If you told me that the sun was going to turn into a pancake, that would be more exciting.  It is kinda like when you make pancakes, and you pour maple syrup on them, well, they get dark.  And that is the only eclipse that I would be interested in watching.

And I will tell you, that if that miracle happened, a once in a lifetime event of a dark pancake sun, I would be barking in excitement.  A total eclipse of the bark.

But, if that is not truly going to happen today, I will be staying inside and crying over the loss of pancakes that could have been.

Sheriff Brickle says that he could care less about the eclipse.

He said that the real attraction today, and every day is looking at him.  Do you need special glasses for that, Brickle?

So, my suggestion for today is this.  Make yourself and your dog some pancakes with maple syrup, preferably the dark grade.  Then, let your dog sleep off the pancake coma, you go outside, put on your glasses which make no sense, and enjoy the eclipse.  Then, write a letter to Sheriff Brickle that he is still the most enjoyable thing to look at and post some pictures on our Facebook page of the eclipse where you live.

Have a good day everyone, and be safe.  Enjoy this special day and forget about all of the bad things happening in the world.  The earth, the planets and nature were put here for us to enjoy.  And those things are what really matters. And pancakes.  With syrup. A total eclipse of the bark!

Now.  We have had a change in plans today. We were supposed to leave for Bodega Bay, California today….but….then we got an invitation to appear live on the Good Day Sacramento TV show Tuesday morning! So we will be staying here in Sacramento one more day than planned.  We are a little nervous…but we can do it!
