This is Fruitycake. Have you ever looked around and wondered how you got yourself in a particular situation? Yeah. We wonder that every day in my family. And the situation is always different.
Yesterday, Girl Person and I made our way to school a few towns over. That meant a few bus rides and walking.
It was hard enough to go to class for Girl Person because of the way she’s been feeling.
But we made the effort to go, and we were minding our own business on the bus when a woman who was old in years came over to us, and said a few nice words to me. And then, she decided that the Fruitycake dog in front of her was her Fruitycake. Her Torta Di Fruta.
And she grabbed my leash and my harness and tried to take me away.
Now, Girl Person isn’t one for drama. In fact, she avoids it at all costs. But in this situation, her inner protective side came out. And since Brickle wasn’t here to help, she had to take matters into her own hands. She just said no, no, no very loudly. People could understand that in any language.
Now, just because you are older in years doesn’t give you permission to do anything you want. Or to be mean. It definitely doesn’t give you permission to take a Fruitycake that isn’t yours.
I like sometimes persons have lost their minds lately. They get so concerned about daily life that what they want is somehow more important than anyone else. At any costs. No matter where you live, this happens. And unfortunately, we have to be cautious. But you can’t live in fear.
Will we ride the bus again? Yes. We won’t stop living. But you better believe that if anyone ever tries this again on Girl Person, she’s gonna have more to say than no…
