This is Fruitycake. I haven’t used my whole name in awhile. So let me now. This is Fruitycake The Raccoon. Just a reminder that I’m not a real raccoon. I just try to eat everything like one. 

We’ve been laughing a lot the last couple days. Sometimes, our life seems so ridiculous. Yet, if we weren’t here, that would seem even more ridiculous.

Because I feel like we were meant to be here somehow.

This house and land is teaching us a lot. And I hope it’s teaching you too that we can all live with less.

And that the little things we take for granted like electricity and water are a big part of a day. If you don’t have them. 

For the persons here, getting water and carrying up things to work on the house and for us to eat are a daily part of our day. A big part of it.

Because we only work on one thing we can afford to at a time, work is slow. But that’s ok. We still get to have wonderful food and pizza.

And we get to hear the waterfall. And the problems on the prairie don’t seem as big at the end of the day when we reflect on what we have. 

The persons’ backs were hurting last night from a long day.

And yet, I was so happy. Happy that I get to tag along with them everywhere. I can even go shopping for clothes with the persons. I am a part of the family here and I’m welcome most places. There are so many things to be thankful for. And we are. The problems on the prairie are mostly having necessities. And when we are able to accomplish that, well, we feel good. 

What chores do you have on a daily basis? Instead of viewing them as things you have to do, you can think of them as things you get to do. And be grateful for your problems on the prairie.
