This is Fruitycake. I have had a lot of time on these paws. That’s a good thing to get rest while you’re healing. I know that my persons sure don’t get to rest as much as me. So I will appreciate it for us all.
My leg is getting better, but I can only go on short walks on our path.
I think it’s wonderful that we have a path. But I also am noticing more going on while I am on the path and at our little house. I am starting to wonder who is running the show around here…or who is watching it.
The birds and the wildlife here do not like to be seen or noticed. We are not used to that. But it’s the way of the woods here.

If the birds think you are getting too close, they fly away, deep into the crevices of the forest and all you can see is a shadow.
But there is one crow…one hooded crow…that spends his time watching it all. He sits high above our house where Brickle has his resting place and looks down.

He sees me but he doesn’t move. He just watches and observes and takes in every movement we make. He judges every decision we make. He inspects every repair we make.
He makes it his job to watch. We are under his watch, I say. But where is his watch? He must wear one.
He check it once or twice or many times throughout the day. Because he takes his perch on time and he clocks out on time.

Under the crow. Under his watch. We are the show. But do you know what? You’re part of a show too. Are you entertaining and pleasing to those that see you? Or are you not living up to your full potential? What crow is watching you?
When we know others are watching, do we act different? Are we genuine and real to the world or do we hide our true selves? Only you…only you can answer that. And the crow.
The crow is above
He sits in the trees
He sees all you do
He records it in the leaves.

He remembers all
And he can call to mind
What you did yesterday
And he will find.
A story you tell
Each and every day
He knows what you say.
He knows who you are
Even though he is looking from afar.
He has a watch
And he checks it twice
He tells all the forest
He tells all the mice
He tells them all
If you’re a good person or bad
He remembers it all
Make his heart glad.
Under his watch
We all are
The crow sees near
And the crow sees far.
So be your best you
Make your life true
Live by your words
Make yourself heard
Live by intention
Be kind and smart
Under the crow
Is a good place to start.
