This is Peanut Butter Brickle. Do you feel heavy today?
I sure do. Some days, I feel heavier than others. No, I am not talking about my physical weight. I could care less about that.
This corn dog tail and “beauty butt”, as Girl Person calls it, is perfect the way it is.
But what I am interested in knowing from you today is how much weight you are carrying. On your shoulders.
For some reason, lately, I have been more aware of all the persons I see and how they look…heavy. Heavy with thoughts. Heavy with concerns. Heavy with sadness. They aren’t just carrying their problems, but they may be carrying the weight of the world.
How much weight then, do you have on your shoulders today? Why are you trying to carry all of that?
We all have our limits.
Even I do. But some days, I may carry more than I want. It won’t just affect me that day, but in the days to come. We will be sore from all of that weight on our shoulders.
We want to be caring and kind and sympathetic. But look at your family who is most closest to you. Are you neglecting them to help another? We may have to do that sometimes. But not all of the time. We have to remember they are the ones that will always be there for us.
When you worry about everything and all the things and more things, what is there that is left? There is no time for you. There is no time for family.
There is no time for what is important. There is only so much room on those shoulders of yours. Everything that you are worrying about, well, let me say this. Every one of those worries probably is important. But they can’t all be the most important and on your shoulders at the same time.
Take care of yourself.
Give yourself the grace you deserve. Don’t go over the worry weight limit.
If you can do one thing for me today, take at least one weight off. And the extra strength that you have, give it to taking some time for you. Not the world.
