This is Fruitycake. It’s been an off week over here for us. Nothing has seemed to go right, and nothing has seemed to go tragically wrong. But nothing is working. We haven’t made much progress.
And the persons have been down on themselves, which makes everything keep going not right.
We have a tiny bathroom in here with a long, long hallway to it. We didn’t know why in the world they would have built it like this. Some parts are hollow, like the mean words people threw at us this week. The persons were about ready to drill into the wall when Girl Person suggested they go outside and look at the side of the house. Mystery solved.
At some point, a boulder rolled down the mountain and hit the house, causing a hole and there was new concrete over it! A repair job led to a the mystery hall added in the bathroom. A tiny bathroom that has caused a lot of issues. But not as many issues as the mean emails and messages of the week.
It’s odd to me how persons tell dogs not to bark. That’s what we are meant to do. It’s the way we express ourselves truthfully and to the point.
The only time we have mean barks is because there is a reason. But persons bark at others just for the sake of doing it.
I think persons have a lot to learn, yes. But the most important thing that they can do is unlearn being unkind, complacent (big word for me), and not caring. Although it’s a good thing that they take care of themselves, being kind to others is just as important. And a few unkind words made things just not right for us this week. But we will get over it and remember that the ones who are kind to us are the majority. And that means a lot. That makes things right. We will choose to remember the ones who told us they need us. And we don’t let them down.
Today is a new day to get some projects started again, and not just the project of confidence in why we are doing this, but for whom.
Sometimes, you have to sit with what’s not right and see how to make it right. Acknowledge your feelings, but don’t get stuck in them.
We’ve got a very tiny bathroom that’s been wreaking havoc on us for a year, and that’s more important than unkindness. we have to spend our energies on making this house and land back to what it was and more…with a new purpose. For Brickle and Digby too.
So the not right things can take a hike. And if you have things not right with you this week, it’s not too late to turn it around. Just don’t try to turn around in our bathroom. You’ll get stuck.

Fruity, I’m so sorry that some people are mean and unkind. It really makes me sick! Don’t those people have nothing better to do but criticize you guys? Really? If you don’t like what someone on a blog is saying, just stop reading it and move on! Are they so filled with hate they have to dump on you? Anyway, I really wish I could help you guys financially, but not right now. Hopefully, the weekend will bring cooler weather for you guys and then maybe it will be easier to work on that long hallway.
