Watered Down

This is Fruitycake. They say that April showers bring May flowers. I say that here, the torrential rain is not shower. In fact, while I’m on the subject of showers, we still don’t have a working one.

Why? We got our hot water heater finally, and Boy Person thought he got his pipes he needed. After finally finding somewhere that had them, and he told them the size, they went and cut the pipes and when they brought them out, they were much smaller. Here, in most stores like that, you can’t go in because they are too small. So you have to tell them what you want and they go get it.

And I won’t water down the truth. Boy Person didn’t know they measure pipes from the inside. Not the outside like the country where we are from. So they were wrong. And now we wait for the rain to stop here so we can try again.

I won’t water down the truth. Dogs never do. We just help to water things. We’ve made a lot do mistakes the last few weeks. We are tired. And wet and cold. And we didn’t know truly the weather here. And we battles we have fought were not the ones we thought would be hard.

As Girl Person tried to forge on yesterday in a break in the rain, she stood by the apple tree. The apple tree that we think has died.

The apple tree by where Brickle is buried. And she felt this overwhelming presence and heard a message in the wind. It said, “I am still alive. Don’t give up on me.” And she was overwhelmed.

Was the message from the apple tree? Or her heart? Or both? She didn’t know, but she knew nothing was more important than planting some flowers seeds for the apple tree and Brickle too. She watered the seeds. That’s what she did.

Life is hard for us now and I can’t water it down. But it’s also wonderful too. We won’t say that we don’t have our doubts. But we also don’t doubt there is a reason we are here and no one else. There is a reason because we are needed here. We will just keep going and being who we are. We won’t water it down.

You can choose to stay with us on this journey of discovery. Or maybe it’s too much for you. We hope you’ll learn more about yourself thru our trials and our experiences.

We hope you’ll hear what you need to in the wind of it comes fo you, wherever you are. And we hope that not watering down life will help us all to grow.

Fruity, your humans need a break. I worry that Girl Person is too fragile for all the rain and cold. I’m just going to pray that the weather will get better for you and that you guys get some rest, somehow.
