Dear Diary, Now What?

This is Fruitycake. Every day is an adventure here. And every night is too. Either you have a woodland creature trying to drop boulders on you, or you hear footsteps downstairs when you’re trying to sleepy.

Or, after all that, you try to get some extra sleep in the morning and a stink bug lands on you and you realize that you’re a little jumpy from all of the above.

Last night, the footsteps I heard and the noises I heard were louder than usual.

I looked over in bed and Boy Person was nowhere to be found. That is quite unusual. If Sheriff Brickle had been here, he would not have let this happen on his watch. And he was always watching.

Then, I heard the sound of sick. You know that sound that happens when your dog gets sick in the middle of the night and it’s like a loud alarm clock? Yeah that. And he was a real loud alarm clock.

So after a full night of Boy Person being sick and Girl Person and me trying to help, and yes, she’s been sick with her girl person problems too, I wondered. Dear Diary, now what?

What happens today if Boy Person can’t get water to charge up our lights or chop the wood to keep us warm or do all the things he does?

What happens if Girl Person can’t do what she does? They are a team.

We are a team for a common goal. To make this place, our lives, your daily lives and the lives of animals and wildlife have better lives. Dear Diary, now what?

Today will be hour by hour. And you can better believe we will make it thru. Because we are strong. We are resilient. A few mishaps or sickness can make you believe you can’t. But we can. And you can. But do you wanna climb up the waterfall and maybe get some water?
