It’s Just A Dusting

This is Digby Pancake.  Have you wondered that if you wished hard enough, your actual wishes could come true?

I did this weekend.

You see, the persons were all worried that a storm was coming.

A lot of rain and wind was in the forecast.  I call that wain because it rhymes with complain, and that’s all I hear.

What the persons didn’t count on was snow.  Because if they would have, they would have complained even more about that. It wouldn’t have seemed possible to hear more complaining, but it would have happened.

When we woke up Friday morning, Girl Person was happy that the sun was out, even though it was cold.  You can’t complain about the sunshiney.  But when we stepped outside, we saw it.  The snow on the ground! The beautiful snow on the ground!

When Girl Person saw how excited Brickle and I were, her frown turned upside down.

I overheard her tell Boy Person that it wasn’t a lot of snow, that it was just a dusting.

But I have never seen anyone dust the snow.  I know house cleaning is a pain, but that sounds ridiculous.

I didn’t care if it was an avalanche or a dusting.  I loved it.  There was nothing we could do to stop the snow.  And why would we have wanted to?  Seems to me that you can complain about anything if you want to.  You can even complain about things you wish for if you are the complaining sort of type.

Sometimes, persons get into a routine of complaining.  It becomes second nature to them.  It’s an avalanche of negativity.  And even a dusting can add up to an avalanche if you do it day after day after day.

Don’t throw snowballs at others.  If it is possible, keep your cold inside.

When we are all struggling to get through each day, remind yourselves of the impact that you can have on others.  In a warm way or in a cold way.

Even when things in our world seem bleak, we can be a dusting of positivity.

A dusting of happy.

A dusting reminder that there are still wonderful, beautiful things to enjoy.

Even on the coldest of days.
