This 2 Traveling Dogs Blog Editorial is sponsored by Pet Releaf. We have spent months testing out the organic CBD products from Pet Releaf and we are so thankful to have CBD oil and their Edibites treats with us on the road.
Imagine this. You are put into a world that you have no control over. You can’t communicate like everyone else. You have no choice usually in activities, people that you are around, or situations. Does this sound stressful to you? Welcome to your dog’s world.
Of course, all of us want our dogs to live the best lives possible. In fact, most of us spend time wondering if our dogs are happy. Yet, as much as we try, the fact is, there are going to be certain situations and triggers for certain dogs that cause stress. And if we want our dogs to be the happiest that they can be, it is up to us to recognize those triggers. Sometimes, we cannot take away those triggers, but we can definitely make sure that our dogs are equipped to handle them the best way that they can.
Many people love the fall season! The changing leaves and cooler weather are indeed wonderful. Brickle and Digby love fall too. Changing weather means longer hikes and picnics and more comfortable sleeping with the windows open. But for many families and the dogs in those families, fall means extra knocks on the door by strangers. Doorbells ringing. Company coming over. Big dinners with extra people. Some families take trips out of town and the dogs are left in boarding. So for some dogs, fall may not be a total breath of fresh air.
So is there anything that we can do as dog parents to not only help our dogs with these fall stress triggers, but actually make our dogs more relaxed in a natural way? For us, we have been using Pet Releaf products on the road for the past few months.
We invited you to start this journey of learning about CBD with us and we have to say, some days, we are actually in awe of how much CBD has made a difference for our dogs with their individual issues. Part of our journey is hoping that you and your family will also learn with us, and if you have either tried every product on the market for your dog’s issues, or you simply are curious about CBD, we do recommend that you give Pet Releaf products a try. But how does CBD actually work?
According to Pet Releaf’s website, “All mammals have an endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS is involved in almost every system in you and your pet’s body. – cardiovascular, digestion, relaxation, and even the cognitive and memory functions. The ECS is also a key factor in the mammalian body’s anti-inflammatory efforts. The ECS is controlled by receptors, which scientists call the CB1 and CB2 receptors.
CBD works directly with the ECS system by “antagonizing” the CB1 and CB2 receptors. CB1 receptors are one of the most abundant receptors in the brain and are found in almost every neuron in a mammal’s body. CB2 receptors are found almost exclusively in the immune system.
Cannabidiol (CBD) and related cannabinoids found in the hemp plant are the only compounds in the natural world that work with these receptors. According to scientists, this means that the mammalian body (yes, including all dogs and cats) have evolved to actually require CBD in order to function at our optimal levels of health.
Another important scientific find is that these receptors when activated by CBD, allow for two-way communication between a mammal’s various body systems. Previously, scientists thought the body’s signals went in one direction only. This two-way communication is what allows CBD to help your companion reach optimum levels of health.”
In a nutshell? CBD knows where to go to help your dog. And as we used Pet Releaf’s products regularly, we knew that there was no denying the fact that their products could help others too. During the fall season, dogs may react adversely with strangers, knocks on your door, people in scary costumes, loud noises or changes of any sort. How can the organic products from Pet Releaf help with that?
Pet Releaf’s website states:
“Cannabidiol (CBD) from the Hemp plant has been known to work wonders with people and with pets when it comes to temporary anxiety prevention. There are multiple scientific studies showing the positive effects of CBD for a multitude of health conditions- including pain management and anxiety reduction.
When CBD enters a mammals endocannabinoid system, specific receptors found throughout the body are activated. These are the only receptors in the body that allow for 2 way communication between body systems. Basically, CBD makes it easier for the body to calm down and relieve tension and temporary anxiety, because receptors in the endocannabinoid system can now “speak” to each other.
Pet Releaf organic CBD oil is extracted using no chemical solvents, it is safe for your pets (they can never over-dose), and it is non-psychoactive.”
But can it help situational anxiety?
“There are two main kinds of anxiety experienced by pets, behavioral and situational. Most of the time our pets experience situational anxiety caused when certain activities are occurring and not something that your pet is experiencing all of the time. Common activities that can cause situational anxiety in our pets are:
Having company over
CBD is extremely helpful in aiding situational anxiety because of it’s soothing and calming properties. Behavioral anxiety, like separation anxiety or increased aggression, need professional training and can’t be “fixed” by using CBD products alone. CBD products should be administered on top of training to help your pet relax and stay calm, however the products alone can’t alter your pet’s personality or eliminate behavioral anxiety.
Whether you’re looking to prevent pet situational anxiety during trick-or-treating season or if you’re traveling with your cat, Pet Releaf Hemp Oil will help. Make sure that you start giving it to your pets as soon as possible so their Endocannabinoid system can function at optimal levels. We suggest administering Pet Releaf products to your furry friends about 30 minutes before any of the holiday fun begins, splitting the recommended dosage between the AM/PM and outside of mealtimes.”
We know that we cannot go over all of the many benefits of Pet Releaf’s products in one blog editorial. And we know that CBD is new to many of us on the pet market. But after testing many dog products over the years, being hopeful, and then disappointed, we know how you feel. We know that CBD can’t cure everything. We know CBD won’t help every dog. But we think that every dog deserves a chance to try it. During this fall season, consider an alternative to not only making your dog more comfortable, but happier and healthier.
Our best tip for administering CBD oil for your dog? Make sure your dog takes in on an empty stomach to realize the full benefits. Make sure you’re seeing the greatest possible results from Pet Releaf products. That all starts with administering them correctly.
And if the CBD oil you see on the pet market does not say “organic”, or if it has flavors added, don’t waste your time. Every minute our dogs experience stress is a minute wasted of their short life. See how Pet Releaf can make that precious life the best one ever…in any season!
