This is Fruitycake. I am a fierce protector of many things. I protect pizza by eating it.

I protect focaccia by eating it.

I protect the hardiness of balls’ hearing by barking at them.

I protect Girl Person from all danger. Dangers of cars and motorcycles and scooters. Why are they so loud?

I protect Girl Person from unsavory characters. I have a way of looking like I mean business. By business I mean giving you the famous Fruitycake grumble.

But when it comes to a floating, big, little mermaid under a bridge, ain’t nobody got time for that. There is no need for questions when you see something like that. You don’t need to protect anything or anyone but yourself. That’s what I say. It’s all persons for themselves!

So when I saw that balloon on the sea, it wasn’t for me. I didn’t trust that sketchy creature. It was not only untrustworthy but where in the world was it going with no air left? Back in the sea? Not on my watch. We don’t pollute.

There it was, being sketchy and ready to make more problems by polluting and hurting marine life! No way! I barked at it but also ran away. Girl Person took care of that thing by putting it in the trash. Where it could not scare or harm others.

Persons or situations may look innocent like that floating, big, little mermaid under the bridge.

But maybe they are robbing us of joy or scaring us into being someone we are not. Run away if you have to. You owe it to yourself.

Our happy rescue story of the day!!

“Hi Rachael! My husband and I adopted Hattie from a shelter in Minnesota in 2015 when she was about 2 years old. She was found on the busy main street in town. The lady from the shelter was asked to come downtown and help the police officer cage an “aggressive” dog. She found 2 men trying to pick up a 9 lb Chiweenie they had backed into a corner. She just walked over and picked her up, lol. We had just lost our lab at age 15 1/2 and saw her in the shelter. She was cowering a bit in the back of her pen. At that time she definitely preferred women to men plus my husband was in a power wheelchair that scared her a bit. We took her home and after a couple of days settled in and she loved him as much as me. She would crawl right up his leg to his arms and ride around with him.
When my husband passed away, we were both very sad and after a bit moved to Arizona! After a couple of years I saw an ad from a lady with miniature schnauzer for sale. She was going to take them to the county shelter soon because she had too many, like about 25 puppies of various ages in her house. So I feel like I rescued Sawyer too even though I paid her for him. I really dislike backyard breeders!!

So Hattie was about 9 when I brought Sawyer home and wasnt really pleased about his coming you live with us. But now they get along great, although Hattie is the queen of the castle even though he is twice the size of her!
So that is our story, probably way too much information!!
Thanks and keep up your good and hard work! You two amaze me and I just live Fruity!”
