This year, we not only want to help animals find home and be advocates for all animals as individuals, but we want to do more. Much more. We want and feel compelled to help…people.

I find that many who help animals often neglect their own feelings and traumas. It’s not easy nor enjoyable to see animals suffering. It’s a job that often gets a bad rap. Shelters that have to make the hardest decisions and who can’t survive financially. Persons who volunteer their time when they can barely afford to make ends meet. People who are going thru divorce or death or every day life trials push their own problems aside to help animals. Thank you. I see you.

Many ask me why I have written a blog every weekday since 2011. And I thought I was doing it for the animals in need of homes. I thought I was doing it, without making a dime, to help be the voices of animals who had no voice. And I was. But there was more. I just wouldn’t know that until years later.
When we started traveling around the USA to shelters, I noticed something. I had messages from people wanting to visit us at our campsites. People would tell me they read the blog every day. And I was actually shocked. I never thought it mattered to any person. But I was being told it did. And I’m forever grateful to the ones who have taken time to tell me that.

The last few years, we have been thru the hardest times of our lives in my little family. Losing Digby and then Brickle. Moving to another country. Trying to survive. It’s as simple as that. And do you know who has helped US? People. People have been patient with us. People have been gracious to us. And many have encouraged me on days I didn’t want to go on. I guess people have rescued me now too. See what happens with animal rescue? This world we live in wants us to forget we can still help others. And that are those that want to help others.
The simple fact in life is that everything we do comes at a price. When we extend love and care to someone else, an animal or person or bug or plant, it takes time from someone or something else. And the sacrifices I have seen from animal advocates are absolutely commendable. But I also want you to see the effect you have beyond that one gesture or hour of rescue work. You provide an example to someone else. And that is a domino effect that will go on for years with just one act. Imagine all of the lives you have saved!

Just like I didn’t know fully why I was writing a blog, I just felt compelled to do so, go with your gut. Keep helping. Keep volunteering. Keep doing what you want to do. You ARE making a difference. And we thank you. Now. How can we help you this year? I want to hear from your loving heart.

We have dedicated our social media pages reaching millions per day to animal rescue. We give our time and resources to this cause. We have worked daily for over a decade to grow our pages to help provide free exposure to shelters and rescues at no cost (each post to our page is valued at 1-3k). We reserve space for animals in need. Not sponsors. But we need your support.

You reminded me here of how a decade ago I came up with my “new focused mantra” after going through very difficult circumstances both health wise and career, all of which “I pulled through by my faith and determination” to then see clearly that “Each Day Try to Make a Difference” is the way to live this life!
Blessings!
