This is Deputy Digby Pancake. And I don’t see to get enough credit around here, you know?  Everyone thinks that Sheriff Brickle is the lawman, and it’s true, what he says usually goes.  Yep.  I am saying this because I don’t want to get arrested today.

But lately, he has gotten, well, pretty spoiled I must say.  He gets bored really easy and he is tired of our usual trails.  The persons are busy, busy, busy… packing and getting things ready for our Adventure Of A Lifetime in a few weeks and so we seem to keep going to the same parks.  You guessed it.  I am a go with the flow kinda guy.  Probably because I like to pee alot.  Flow, pee, get it?  But Brickle? He needs an attitude adjustment.

Now, when we get to a park that he is bored with, he plants his big ol’ paws in the sand. He refuses to move.  At first, Girl Person tried to fool us and do the trails backwards. That worked once.  You are trying to fool law enforcement, Girl Person?  Uh oh.

Then, Girl Person tried reasoning with Brickle.  She told him that some dogs never even get to go hiking and that he should be appreciative.  He listened. But then he refused to move again.  Oh, Girl Person.

Finally today, Girl Person told Brickle that she gets it.  She gets his point.  She told him that she understands he is bored.  But there are new things we can notice everyday, even if we are in the same place.  She also told him that he needs to appreciate this Florida place because we won’t be back for a year.  He listened.  For a minute.  And then he licked Girl Person’s face and started walking again.  You see, sometimes we have to be reminded of what is special. Even if we see it every day.
