You’re The Only One I’ll Share My Big Game Snacks With

This is Digby Pancake.  Every day should be celebrated, right? That’s right! I tell you that all of the time!

But there are certain days that the persons like to celebrate more than others! Especially if there is food involved, Brickle and I say count us in!

Lately, the persons haven’t been able to go many places.  So on Sunday, it’s going to be quite an event.  They can have fun while they are at home, eat lots of snacks, share lots of snacks with us dogs, and cheer on their favorite team!

But you may be wondering…what should I make to compliment my football viewing?  What would my dog want?  I know you are probably thinking that.  And if you are not thinking, that, then why not? Brickle says that some people like to say they don’t cook for themselves, so why would they cook for their dog?

What if I told you that you could make and share the same football food?

All you have to do is add salt and pepper to your portion!  That is something to cheer about!

When life is so hard for so many of us right now, we want ease.  We want fun.  We want tasty, tasty, tasty! So please enjoy these simple recipes from our house on wheels to yours!

We highly recommend watching the game right outside of your RV if you have one like we are going to do! That way, we can be outside and enjoying the fresh air, eating by the campfire, and loving life!

Pizza Puptato Skins

Ingredients

Sweet Potatoes (As many as you want!)
No salt tomato or marinara sauce
Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
Fresh, chopped basil
Olive Oil

Directions

Preheat oven to 400°F. Bake Potatoes and brush each potato with olive oil. Place on a baking tray and bake in the oven for about 35 minutes or until the potatoes are fork tender. Let the potatoes cool to the touch.

Cut the potatoes in half and scoop out the inside leaving just a bit on the skin. Brush again the inside of the potatoes with olive oil and place in the oven again for about 5 to 10 minutes, until they start to turn crispy around the sides, turn them over and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes until nice and crisp.

To assemble your potato skins, fill each skin with chopped tomatoes or no salt marinara, shredded mozzarella, and fresh basil.
Put back to the oven and bake for an additional 5 to 7 minutes or until the cheese has melted.

The Tampa Tail Wagger Sandwich

Our persons lived near the Tampa, Florida place for a long, long time.

A sandwich that is popular there is the Cuban Sandwich. The ingredients inside a Cuban sandwich are simple: ham, roasted pork, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard, and if you’re in Tampa, salami.

But for dogs, we have to alter it a bit so that we don’t get all the salt and fat, but we still wanted those flavor components.

Ingredients

One loaf of cuban bread
Ham slices (preferably low sodium, no nitrates)
Swiss cheese slices
Homemade pickle for dogs (Just soak some cucumber slices in apple cider vinegar overnight)
Chopped bell pepper

Directions

We are dogs and even we wmyare m was know how to make a sandwich. So cut your bread into desired size slices and layer your ingredients. And then eat it.

Kansas City Barking BBQ

We may be from that Tampa, Florida place, but that doesn’t mean we don’t appreciate a good barbecue sandwich like the ones in Kansas City!

Our persons are vegan, so they wouldn’t use meat for this recipe. But for us dogs, you can use any meat we choose like chicken, pork, beef or even fish! We choose fish because it is lower in fat and still tasty!

Ingredients

Meat of your choice (one pound), or if you are vegan, cook up some spaghetti squash or jackfruit!
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 cup tomato sauce
2 tablespoon molasses
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Bread for your sandwich? Hello! I choose mini pancakes! Bake them up or buy the frozen ones.

Directions

Mix meat or veggies and all other ingredients together except bread and shredded cabbage.Cook meat throughly. You can bake or barbecue outside on your grill. Make a sandwich by layering the cabbage and meat on your pancakes or bread. You know how to do that.

You know, no matter who you want to win on Sunday’s Big Game, I know something for sure. We are all winners.  If we are fortunate enough to be able to have good food and share it with the ones we love, how pawsome is that?

For us, we are thankful to have our new house on wheels from that Camping World place and are going to enjoy this game, barking on our home team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

But if you are barking on the Kansas City Chiefs, well, I will make you a sandwich.

Let’s remember that even though the way we celebrate the good times has changed, there are still good times!

Every day should be celebrated and cheered for.  Let’s do it!
