You Better Hurry Cause It’s Going Fast

This is Fruitycake The Raccoon. I know I’ve been taking up a lot of the blog this week, but Peanut Butter Brickle requested a few days off. And I don’t know about you, but I don’t think he gets told no very often.

This was a good week. Every week is a good week.

But this mountain thing that I’m learning about is beautiful. The clouds roll in, but they roll away fast. The birds chirp with happiness. And the chipmunks and squirrels play all day. The weather is cooler. And I feel better. And Brickle does too. Plus, I got to see some colorful flowers on a mountaintop the other night. And I’ll never forget them.

When you love something so much like the wildflowers, and the mountains, you try to remember how they looked and how they smelled. Because I’ve been told they won’t be around forever. I’ve been told that they fade fast.

They are here one day and gone quickly. So you have to hurry to love them.

Up here on the mountaintop, the flowers grow wild and plentiful. They love their space and their life.

Even though the flower has a short life, the bees hurry to show them love. The birds hurry to sing about them. And I’m glad I got to see them. But they may be thinking the same thing about me.

In a world where life is short and uncertain, why do we hurry to do things we don’t want to and forget about the things we want to do? How does that make any sense? We fade like a flower. Digby was here. We loved him. But his time faded.

He loved to the depths of the ocean’s bottom and to the clouds. All of the in between was filled with love too. He didn’t wait to enjoy life. He hurried to enjoy it. That is what I’ve been told.

And that is what I want to do too.

So whatever you wish you could forget about today, forget it. And hurry to the flower.

For as a flower fades, so does life. Don’t wait to enjoy all its glory.
