Mum’s The Word

This is Digby Pancake. What do you use your inside voice for? I would like to know.

You see, I am told to use my inside voice quite often. When I bark for dinner, bark at people with hats on, or bark for no reason. I’m told to use my inside voice.

But who would hear my inside voice? Not me. Because my stomach growling and asking for food is louder than any voice I know. Inside or outside. But some persons? They think keeping quiet is the right thing to do. They don’t speak up. They keep it inside, even when something really matters to them.

Take the mum plant we have by our RV. Or if you want to get real technical about it, you can call it a chrysanthemum.

It is beautiful. Bright. Cheerful. But it is only this beautiful because it bloomed. When it kept its blossoms inside, it wasn’t as pretty. It just wasn’t.

Do you keep things on the inside because you’re afraid people won’t like you? Then how will you bloom like my mums?

You see, we all have things about us and in our past that we learned from of that we went thru.

But maybe you’re afraid to tell others because of how they will react. But are secrets part of us? Part of nature? Nature is what it is. You are what you are.

Don’t hide who you are to make others happy. Don’t keep something inside you need to say in order to heal. Bloom like the mum.

Even though it’s flowers last just a few weeks, it’s better than never having bloomed at all.
