No Dog Is An Island

This is Fruitycake The Raccoon. Just a reminder that I’m not a real raccoon. I just have a personality like one.

Yesterday was our last day in this Florida place for awhile.

Today, we start heading north. And we will be staying the weekend at a place called Tybee Island, Georgia place.

Brickle recommended we go there on our way to our friends’ house. Do you remember when Brickle and Fruitycake stayed by their friends barn with their pups Ellie and Juneau?

Well, we are headed back there for two weeks to stay with them. To regroup…as the persons like to say. Truth is, they have some work for Boy Person to do. And so they said if he helps them fix a school bus, we can stay there while he does that.

I’m all for that. I like being part of a family. I like having friends. I like it a lot. And I think we all need friends, don’t we?

Even Brickle, who is the most independent dog I know, needed me when Digby was no longer with him. Brickle needs others. And it’s hard to acknowledge that sometimes.

We may think that are fine by ourselves. And it’s great to enjoy your own company. I love to be by myself and go watch TV in another room.

But it’s also fine to ask others for their opinions. To accept help from others. To enjoy a campfire or two together.

No dog is an island. No person is an island. We all need someone or something.

Give help and receive help. Give love and receive love.
