What IS The Point? Our Next Steps
Update From Girl Person
This is Girl Person. I have been doing a lot of work lately, not only on our next steps after we sell the rustico, but also on getting back to why we started 2 Traveling Dogs in the first place.
I say “when we sell the rustico” because, despite being scared we won’t sell it, I’m confident that if our intentions to help animals and fulfill the purpose of this page are true, it will sell. Because the purpose is bigger than our doubts. The purpose is bigger than other people’s opinions. And the purpose is as big as the legacy of Brickle, Digby, and the living legacy of Fruitycake.

What is the point of continuing to write blogs and articles, share animals in need, help rescues with promotion, and educate the public about animal rescue? Some days it’s hard. It’s hard to see past the obstacles in our way. But we keep going. Despite the horrible comments and hate we get in all the ways.
Because even if one life is saved, even if only one life has been changed in the more than 15 years we’ve been doing this, it has all been worth it.

After we sell the rustico, which is our biggest obstacle right now, we plan to return to the United States to begin a new rescue project I’ve been working on behind the scenes. It’s an innovation in helping animals get adopted—fun ways, exciting ways, and by partnering with sponsors who see the value in making rescue animals the first choice. My goal is to help end animal cruelty, animal homelessness, unwanted animals, and starving animals, while at the same time getting people involved in a way that will make their own lives better too. I know one person can’t change the entire world, but one idea can start a movement. If we can inspire more people to choose rescue, support shelters, and become part of the solution, together we really can change countless lives.
Too big of a dream? Too big of a purpose? Again, those opinions are none of my business. I will work as hard as I can to reach my goals and put my intentions into action.
So right now, this week’s update is that I’m doing everything I can to get the rustico sold so we can get going… bigger and better than ever. Although I realize some things are out of my control, I will work as hard as I can to do everything within my control. I’ll be listing it internationally, everywhere I can. I’ll be trying to sell it through social media. And, most importantly, in between all of that work, I’ll be putting in the work to build this animal rescue project.
That being said, we need support more than ever in order to build this project from scratch while continuing to do what we do now. Running our social media, outreach, and creating all of our content is our full-time work because we believe it truly makes a difference. Understandably, contributions have almost stopped this week—a week when Fruitycake needs allergy medication and we still have basic necessities to cover.
We won’t be putting any more money into the rustico. It needs someone new to take over, and our focus has to be on the future. Right now, our needs are simply groceries, fuel for the generator, Fruitycake’s allergy medication, and the necessities that keep us going while we continue creating content and helping animals every single day.
If you feel we are worthy of your prayers, your support, or your love, thank you. We truly couldn’t continue without you. We love you all, and we will continue to do everything we can, no matter what circumstances we’re facing. Because it’s during the hardest times that we show what our hearts are truly made of.
Make Rescues The Breed Of Choice!
P.S. If you’d like to help us get through this difficult transition while we continue creating rescue content every day and work toward this new rescue project, any support means the world to us. Right now we’re trying to cover groceries, fuel for the generator, Fruitycake’s allergy medication, and other daily necessities while we work to sell the rustico and build what comes next.
