Fruitycake’s Daily Affirmation: It’s OK When You Need Help

This is Fruitycake. Today is Monday and that’s the start of a new week. And a chance to be better! A chance to accept help. If you’ve been struggling like my persons lately, we love you. And today’s message is for you. Ready to say today’s affirmation out loud?

Today, I remind myself that even the strongest among us need help sometimes. I do not have to carry every burden by myself, solve every problem alone, or pretend that I am not struggling when I am. Asking for help is not giving up. It is recognizing that we were never meant to walk through life alone. There are times when I need someone to hold a gate, carry a load, listen to my worries, or simply stand beside me. When those moments come, I will accept help with gratitude instead of guilt.

I also understand that receiving help comes with a responsibility. Not a debt to be repaid to one person, but a kindness to be passed on. When I am stronger, when I am able, I will look for ways to help someone else. I will offer encouragement to someone who is discouraged. I will share what I have with someone who has less. I will listen when someone needs to be heard. I will be the helping hand that I once needed.

When this life feels overwhelming, remember this: accepting help does not make you a burden. It makes you human. Or a dog!

P.S. Right now, my persons need a little help too. Girl Person is still recovering from surgery, and everyday life here at the rustico has not gotten any easier. As we work to sell Under The Crow and prepare for the next chapter of helping animals, every donation helps with necessities, recovery expenses, and keeping us going through this difficult transition. If you can help, no amount is too small. Donations can be made at www.tinyurl.com/2tdnecessities, Venmo: travelingdogs2, or Zelle: rachael@2travelingdogs.com.
