The Good Wishes

This is Fruitycake. Our spot in this Italy place teaches us something new every day. It doesn’t just teach us about this part of the earth and nature and animals. The most important things we get taught about ourselves.

We took a walk to the sea yesterday. Girl Person has been having some pain and trouble with her foot. It hurts her very bad, but she also knows I like to walk. It means everything to me.

She never lets me down and in turn, I don’t let her down. I also have to make sure she doesn’t fall down.

Because she was walking a little slower than normal, it actually gave both of us more time to talk.

She told me that she had an idea. For every person that we passed walking, she would give them a wish in her head. That’s what she wanted to do. I didn’t argue with her idea, because I’m used to the crazy ones. And this one wasn’t the craziest.

She didn’t say her wishes out loud, but still loud in her mind. One wish was for someone to have the best cup of coffee. Another wish was for someone to have a nice night’s sleep. Another wish was for a dog we passed who she wished would have a very tasty dinner and an extra two treats. One wish was for someone to hear the words “I love you” and another wish was for someone to have peace of mind that day. There was a lot more wishes because we passed many individuals.

Girl Person was surprised how easy this came to her, how many wishes she could think of, and how she felt good doing it. No one knew she was doing it. That wasn’t the point. The point was to care without needing anything in return.

The good wishes were an idea. And a good one. But by the time she got to town to pick up some supplies later, that foot hurt so bad. She was wondering if she could keep going on like this. She was wondering if this all was too hard. The house, the land, the everything.

And then, like a mirage, she saw a stand for fries and fried mushrooms and fried vegetables!

She had been wanting fries for a long time that were good and reminded her of good times. All of a sudden, like a miracle on a street she had passed so many times but not walked down, there they were.

Had someone wished for her to find her fries? Or were all the good wishes being delivered back to her in return?

She ate some fries and cried and cried happy tears. It was true! When you wish someone the best in life it is always returned to you. How many fries equaled the good wishes. And now, I ask this of you.

Today, try to do the same. Wish at least 10 individuals or animals you see a very good wish. Make them different…each one. And see what comes back to you.

Fruitycake

This is Fruity. You make this project possible and the blog too. You even have put food on our little table. Thank you again. For those asking, we are in urgent need of two items. Donations are down and we understand. So work on the house inside has to be paused. But in order to keep our crops planted and land cleared, especially for safety, we have an urgent need for a wood chipper. As well, the persons are in need of orthopedic shoes to keep working. They are having a ruff time walking! So if you wish to help this week for those needs and yes, groceries, you can at www.tinyurl.com/2tdnecessitiesor Venmo travelingdogs2 or Zelle rachael@2travelingdogs.com
