This is Fruitycake. Today, we leave for Genoa in this Italy place. It’s going to be a long day.
But, hey. Journeys in life are sometimes repeated.
Seems like we were here just a few months ago to meet with persons who could give us an answer on if we could stay. And here we are again.

Today is one of those days when we have to hold on to all of the courage that we have. We have to try and get the courage that we lost. And we also have to get some more courage.

So I’ve been thinking of a dog I met a few days ago named Becky. I know her name was Becky because her persons were yelling her name.
We met Becky when she ran past us so fast that we only saw a speck of her. And yet, a speck was all we needed of Becky. She had that much energy. She was having fun being lost. I guess we should be having fun being lost too. We sure are lost right now.
A specky of Becky may not be in any recipe, but it should be for life. You see, she didn’t know how long it was going to take for her persons to find her. So she was living it all up while she could. A specky of Becky means you don’t know what’s going to happen…ever. So you might as well have some fun.
Becky had ran away from her persons to hike in the woods and she made fast friends with us. Kind of like how many if you have become our fast friends. Friends who are cheering us on for our appointment and what we want to do here. You’re a specky of Becky too.

Becky did get back to her persons when we found them. And she did have to continue on her journey, wherever that is. But a specky of Becky reminded us of our purpose. She reminded us to laugh. And she reminded us to have fun…wherever you go in life.
So no matter what happens tomorrow, we will be happy. We will be content to be directed on which way to go. And we will go there…to wherever the world needs us. And we will be proud and confident that we can do whatever we were meant to do. We have more than a specky of courage if you all send some to us. Here. We. Go.

We we were told in 2011 that no one cared enough about rescue dogs to write a blog. We were told no one would care what two dogs had to say. We didn’t listen. And we knew anything was possible if we tried to make a difference and give rescue animals a voice. One million people following our page proved that they did matter.
Today is no different. Big goals, impossible dreams for the world of wildlife and rescue and shelters to work together. If we can get one million people to follow us on social media, surely, we can get 200 people on each of our Patreon pages to show that we have support…today! We know we can do it!!! And if you’d like to make a donation to support this endeavor, this is the time!
