The Bike That Needed A Bat
This is Fruitycake. Yesterday, the rain poured down like grated cheese on a pizza! I mean, a lot of cheese!
Girl Person tells me her Granny Person used to say, “Ray, oh, we needed that rain”, when it came down. And if the forecast said it was going to rain and it didn’t? She swore, “Ray, it rained all around us. The neighbors said it rained on their street, but it sure didn’t rain here”. There was always a lot to talk about the weather, Girl Person said. Well, it was entertainment back then. And it’s kinda like that here now! What year is this?!
There can be a lot to complain about on a day with rain. And there was no shortage of complaining here. Granny Person might as well have been here. Maybe she was. Because the weather said it was to rain later in the day, but it didn’t. And the persons needed some supplies that were to be delivered to stop the rain from coming in. So even though Girl Person is sick, she knew Boy Person was trying to gather up wood to keep us warm.
So she pulled herself together and went down the path. She only fell twice in the mud, and that was good odds. It was a great start.
But when she got down and went to catch a bus, it didn’t come. She knew where she had to pick up supplies was closing. So she grabbed a rental bike and then? The rain started pouring down more and more. She wiped off the seat, jumped on, and sped off.
She was about half way there and was thinking what in the world was she doing.
Here she was, with the rain splashing in her face. She never wears makeup but she had this day. The mascara was making her look even more scary to the mad tourists caught in the deluge.
That’s when a car came by. It had plenty of space. But instead, it swerved right into a huge puddle of water at fast speed. The people laughed and the water went all over Girl Person.
Now, she decided the best thing to do was to get mad in a good way. Have you ever done that? She decided to make up a song, and sing it so loud that the tourist people would hear. And that made her laugh.

This rental bike

We don’t mind

So…yeah. This song went on and on. And many verses were added and many faces were confused. When Girl Person got to the package pickup and there were no packages? Oh, howdy do. Another thing to laugh at.
You know, you can choose to think the worst of people like the driver. Yes. You can do that and get so mad that it ruins your whole day. And they wouldn’t have even known it.
And you can let them win.
Or, you can sing a song all day long. And that? That’s as good as the bike that needed a bath. Two good. It was a great thing for them to do. Hooooowwwdy to the do.
