This is Fruitycake. Some secrets will never be known. Like the secret to Brickle’s handsome. That’s for you, big brother. I miss you.

Some secrets would rather be left untold. Like the mystery of how a dog can be so fruity. If that was known, there would be more barking fruity loopy dogs like me. And the world is not ready for that.

But the secret of the coin that we found in the dirt yesterday? Farmer Fruity knows the secret of how got there and what it means. Yes. Yes. Farmer Fruity knows all about what grows here.

You see, once upon a time, 1950 to be exact, because that is the date on the secret coin, there was another farmer here.

The farmer was working so hard. He dug and he dug the blackberry roots up. He dug and dug the holes to plant the apple trees and chestnut trees and olive trees. And he was tired. So tired.
So the tired farmer sat down for a spell. He had always been in this Italy place. And now he had this house. And he wondered after all of his hard work, what would come of it. He was tired of thinking and hungry. And so he dug in his pocket to see if he could buy some lunch down the path. He pulled out his coins and he dropped one. Right into a hole meant for tomatoes.

He looked at the coin. And he wondered…if he thought hard enough, could he bless that coin? Could he will that coin to be found again one day when he wasn’t around? Could he wish upon that coin for the people who would live here one day to find it? Yes. Yes. He would try. And this is what he said out loud.

“Coin, Coin, I plant you in the ground. One day, when I am gone, I will you to be found. The land who needs help, the house in rubble, it may seem like too much trouble. But I bless this coin to who may dig it up under the dirt, to see the value here for what it’s worth. If they work and find this coin, may it grow to many, may they take care of this land with their own hands. And may it be loved again, when I am not here. May they remember me, the farmer who once was, may they remember they can do this for us in the past, and for us in the future. The secret coin. I wish you well, and now, I cast this spell.”

So as you can see, Farmer Fruity, that’s me, I tell you the farmer’s secret.
But now it’s known. I think we have a good chance at making it work with the secret of the farmer’s coin.

And I’m ready. Now, let’s make him proud.
