This is Fruitycake. If you’ve ever thought about visiting us in person, I have a fair warning. Things that are crazy happen to us.
Things abnormal occur. Sometimes, the occurrences that occur are well, unbelievable. But we can’t make this stuff up. I’ve said it before, I’m saying it now, and I’ll most likely say it again.

On Saturday, the persons were busy working. Girl Person was continuing to paint the bathroom, trying to make it into the sea. She was wearing a pink raincoat, because you know, the few items of clothing she does have don’t need green paint on them.
Boy Person had set his task on the path. Our electric bike should be here any day. And we need something to keep jt dry and safe. He’s trying to clear the tunnel of terror where all the blackberry bushes are to build a shed. So he was deep in that tunnel and covered in dirt, carrying a shovel and also had a camera up filming it. You get the picture.

All of a sudden, he heard screaming. Lots of screaming. He came out of the path with his shovel to see a team of police and search and rescuers. They looked at him like they had just saw a ghost.
They asked him if he was alone. Solo? They said…he said yes. They looked at him cautiously and suspiciously. Anna? Is Anna with you? He said no. No Anna. In a nutshell, a crazy nutshell, a heavy conversation of Italian and English determined that two days ago, a note had been found in the woods nearby. “I’m lost. -Anna”. They had been looking for two days for Anna. And needed to go to every house and asked Boy Person to come with them. They didn’t want to get lost in the woods too.
The ones sent to our house had seen a person with a pink raincoat with green paint on her listening to a self help audio book while washing her hands in a bucket and had promptly turned around.
Eventually, as Boy Person helped the rescuers get to the other side of the mountain, that’s when our neighbors down the oath saw him with police following him.
They had no idea what was going on, only that the crazy Americans were at it again.
They came over to try and help and as they were shown a picture of Anna, more people were dispersed up the mountain who yes, after two days of searching found Anna. A tourist who had been lost but ended up at a bed and breakfast.
Now, if you can see my persons laughing as hard as they can, you’ll start laughing too. The possibility that Boy Person could have been taken away because of the shovel and filming and a missing woman was not funny, but it was funny. Because ridiculous things are part of life. Well, they are a part of ours. It’s ridiculous we are here in the first place. We get that. But hey, no one said it was boring.
Life sure can be easier sitting on a small couch. But we are in a big world, full of endless possibilities and stories and memories to make.
This will be a source of laughter for many, at least, days to come until the next story. So make your stories. Just mind where you carry around shovels.
