This is Fruitycake. When my persons, both of my persons, get sick at the same time, you can imagine that it’s overtime work for me. Punching that time clock means a long day. And night.
I guess my persons did too much the last few weeks. Walking at least 8 to 10 miles a day, rain or sunshiney, tests and the amazing race to stay here.
I can’t believe I’m saying this. But we can stay. Against all the odds, at the last minute, the lawyer person, our teacher, and a baker helped us sort out the mess we were in.
Friends. We are starting to have friends in this Italy place. It seems so strange to say this. But a friend is a friend. No matter if it’s a short time. Or a long time. Persons can prove things very quickly as to who they are, can’t they?
The last couple of weeks have been hectic. And stressful. And my persons had given up. They knew they had to take care of me most of all. And they couldn’t wait on a “what if” situation.
It was very hard for them to trust others and their knowledge and guidance. But they had a choice. They could trust and try. Or not trust and try. They could leave the country and rely on their own thinking. Or they could look beyond and listen to someone else. Well, three someone else’s. And that’s what they did. And that’s why it worked out.
It’s wonderful to be self sufficient and strong. But no one can do it all. No one. Not even Brickle could.
Not me.
We all need someone. It’s how you live a wonderful life. We need you too. You even helped us build this gate. Yes. You.
It’s a new week. And no, we aren’t on a boat in that England place, which would have been fun. But there will be time for that.
But we are where we belong. With Brickle.
With our house.
