This is Fruitycake. Most of the time, we want to be welcoming to others in our lives. Kindness and being open to helping others is a quality we all have to work on. Even with the ones we love, they can sure get on our nerves.
But right now, we can’t be welcoming to everyone here at our little house in this Italy place.

Some people get lost and think our path leads to somewhere else other than our house.

They don’t realize it is dangerous to climb behind the house. And then we have the wild boars. There isn’t much you can do to stop them. And it’s true they have just as much of a right to be here as we do. If not more.
But we also don’t want them to disturb where Brickle is buried. We shine a light on it every night.

Or knock down walls.

So we decided we better replace the gate here. The gate that is falling down. And not doing much. Especially if we have to leave here for a few weeks, the persons want to make sure that there is some protection with cameras and a gate.
A gate. To our little house. It is needed. We have to keep our house…Brickle’s spot safe.

Persons think that they own something because they have papers that say so. But truly, the earth and how we live should make it better.

If we are fortunate enough to have a little part of it in our name, we need to make it better. Not worse. And I hope we can continue to make Brickle’s house better. Day by day.
And in a way that he would have been proud.

And in a way, hopefully soon, when we can open that gate to more rescue animals that need us and can enjoy this little part of the earth too.
