Priorities Everywhere

This is Fruitycake The Raccoon. Just a reminder that I’m not a real raccoon. But I’m smart like one.

This weekend didn’t go as planned. But, no matter where you travel to, problems may follow you. And that’s just part of life. So are priorities.

As much as we love our little house here in this Italy place, and as much as we wanted to get started on it this weekend, life had a way of reminding us that it’s not the most important thing in our lives. Not even close.

It’s been a big adjustment to be in a different country for the persons. Not all adjustments are bad. Just challenging. Even the simple things of every day take more time. Like getting food.

Girl Person loves to walk. We all know this. But one of her feet seems to have put on the brakes.

Then, you have me. I got stung by something on a walk. And then I had an allergic reaction to something else. And sleep? Nope. There was none to be had last night.

So that little house in this Italy place? It had to wait to be worked on this weekend. And yet, because of the problems, we had time to reflect. And even get a visit from our Italian teacher and her friend who is going to give our persons some bikes to get around.

You see, health and the ones we love are more important than any house. Anywhere.

Sometimes, we may think we know what our priorities are. But life has a way of reminding us that any plans can be cancelled. Anytime.

I know that it’s been a long journey to get to this Italy place. And we aren’t ones to be stopped over a few hard nights.

But sometimes you have to be reminded that priorities are in fact the ones you love.

Not only do we need to redo a forgotten house in Italy. But we need to redo the way we take care of ourselves. We need to redo how we view life. We got those reminders this weekend.

Today, the persons will start on some projects. But first…rest. That’s a priority. And remember you are a priority too. The biggest one in your life. Without you, there is no you. Without me, there is no me. We all need each other.
