We Have A Plan. But We Can’t Build It Alone.
This is Girl Person.
There are moments when asking for help is uncomfortable, but staying quiet would be worse. This is one of those moments. Because the whole future of the work we’ve done and will do is at stake.
Without our Patreon members, 2 Traveling Dogs would not still be doing what we do today. Patreon monthly support has helped us continue the blog, our rescue outreach, our videos, our daily content and, most importantly, our mission to Make Rescues The Breed Of Choice! When other sources of income and support have changed or disappeared, Patreon has given us something dependable enough to keep going.
But right now, keeping going isn’t enough.
We need to grow. And we need to do it now.
Once the rustico is sold, our plan is to return to the United States and begin the next chapter of 2 Traveling Dogs. We want to take everything we have learned through years of rescue outreach, storytelling, traveling, visiting shelters and building this community and use it to develop an innovative new project that can help animals, rescue organizations and people. We’ve done this voluntarily not only for the animals but for all of you.

This isn’t just an idea we’re talking about anymore. We have already started doing the research.
On September 3, We Have Somewhere Important To Go
We have been invited to visit a rescue shelter here in Italy on September 3 as part of our research for the project we want to begin when we return to the United States.
We want to go. We need to go.More details…exciting ones will come this weekend.
We want to spend time there listening, observing and learning. We want to understand more about the challenges rescue organizations face, what they need, what works and where there may be opportunities to do things differently. We want to take what we learn in Italy, combine it with everything our years of rescue work in the United States have taught us and start laying the foundation for what comes next.
But even making that research trip takes resources. Transportation costs money. Continuing this work costs money. Getting ourselves back to the United States after the rustico sells will take money. And turning an idea into something that can actually help animals takes much more than enthusiasm.
This is why we need our community now—not after we get back to the States. Not after the rustico sells. Now.
We Need More Patreon Members Before The Next Chapter Begins
If you have followed us for years and always thought about joining Patreon, please don’t wait any longer.
Membership starts at just $5 a month. One $5 membership may seem small, but imagine what happens when hundreds of people make that commitment together. It gives us something incredibly important: a dependable foundation from which we can plan, travel, research, create and build.
We aren’t asking one person to fund this dream.
We’re asking a community to build it with us.
And Patreon members aren’t simply sending us money and watching from a distance. We want you to be part of this next chapter. Members receive our weekday blogs and audio blogs, extra videos, recipes, behind-the-scenes content and updates that aren’t available everywhere else. As this new rescue project develops, Patreon will also be where we can bring you closer to the process—the research, ideas, shelter visits, planning, progress and everything we learn along the way. And wow. We have some fun goodies from Fruitycake on the way too.

September 3 Can Be One Of The First Steps
I keep thinking about that invitation.
We could look at September 3 as simply a visit to an animal shelter in Italy. But I don’t think that’s what it is.
I think it could be one of the first real steps toward whatever 2 Traveling Dogs becomes next.
We want to walk into that shelter with our eyes and ears open. We want to ask questions. We want to learn from the people doing the work and from the animals whose lives depend on that work. And then, when we return to the United States, we want to take those lessons with us.
Maybe something we learn there changes an idea. Maybe it gives us a completely new one. Maybe we meet someone who sees a problem differently than we do. That’s what research is supposed to do.
But first, we have to be able to get there. And then we have to be able to keep going. If you can help with car rental, accommodations and expenses the specific link is here. https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/QDBKM47GL4EJA
This Community Has Already Kept Us Alive
I don’t say that lightly.
The people who support us on Patreon have allowed this blog and our rescue outreach to continue during times when I genuinely didn’t know how we were going to keep doing it. Every person who chose to give $5 or $10 a month became part of the reason another blog was written, another rescue was shared and another day was spent telling people that rescue animals deserve to be chosen.
Now I am asking you to help us turn that support into something bigger.
We don’t want the sale of the rustico and our return to the United States to mark the end of this journey. We want it to give us the opportunity to reinvent what we do and find an innovative new way to help animals, rescues and people together.
We have the experience. We have the ideas. We have the audience. We have the determination. And now we even have our first research opportunity waiting for us on September 3.
What we need is the financial foundation to move forward.
If you have ever thought about joining Patreon, please join today. If you are already a member, please consider sharing our Patreon and telling someone why you support us or increase your membership.

Help us make the September 3 shelter visit one of the first steps. Help us get back to the United States when the rustico sells. Help us research, plan and build something new. And help us make sure that everything we have learned over all these years doesn’t simply become a collection of memories.
Let’s turn it into what comes next.
With love and enormous gratitude,
Girl Person
