Did You See That?!

This is Peanut Butter Brickle. Fruity asks me a lot of questions each and every day. Most of the time, his questions center around food. When there will be more food. And how we can speed up the process.

Usually, I’m too busy watching everything and everyone and making sure everyone is doing what they should be doing to entertain questions.

But with Fruitycake, I feel different.

Yesterday, we had to move campsites again. We are trying to get to that Florida place. So we drove from that New Jersey place to that Delaware place and then from that Delaware place to that Virginia place. There was a lot to see. But you know what? I’ve seen it all before. Many. Many. Times.

I wasn’t really into looking much. But I had no choice. Because every few minutes, Fruity would ask me “did you see that?!” I would then have to explain what it was. This went on for hours.

Yes. Dogs can tell time. And the time was running out on my patience.

It seemed to me that be would never stop with the questions. It seems to me now that I was right. And when we got to our campsite finally in that Virginia place, he had one. Last. Question. The sun was setting over the water.

And Fruity pulled and pulled us over to the boardwalk. Guess what he asked. “Did you see that?!” And honestly, I did see it. But in a very new way. In the eyes of Fruity.

Everything is new to Fruity. Wonderful. Magical. And that’s the way it should be.

We may have all lived many days. But every day, we should wake up and ask ourselves “did you see that?!” But in order to do that, you have to notice life. Look at life. Love life.

Even though I am nearing 14 years old, I feel like a puppy again. Seeing Fruity excited and happy makes me want to experience more. I feel stronger. Happier. Like I want to show him the world.

Fruity may have a lot of questions. But there is no question how much we love seeing the world together. Find someone that helps you to remember again the magic is in a day. Answer the questions. Find the answer to living.
