Brickle is the opposite of me. He says he’s called an introvert. That’s a fancy word I guess for feeling what you feel and keeping it to yourself. Brickle doesn’t like anyone until they give him a reason to.

We are all different, I’m finding out.

And I seem to be wonder sometimes if everyone is different in the way we feel. Or just the way we show how we feel.

Yesterday, we left the mountains of this North Carolina place for a place called the Outer Banks.

Brickle says that they were here before with Digby. Many years ago.

I like the fact that Digby has been to the places I get to go. I feel like he paved the way for me. I feel my feelings on the outside.

And I feel honored to walk in the same steps as my brother, Digby.

Even though Brickle misses Digby, probably more than anyone, he doesn’t talk about it much. He keeps it on the inside and his outer shell is strong. I wish sometimes that he would feel it on the outside though. So that I would know how to help him.

Is your outer shell an honest one? Or does it hide your true self? There’s nothing wrong with being strong. But the more that you hide your feelings, the more you may forget about them yourself.
